I was invited to an ex gf bday party by her mom....said the girl would be happy to see me.

Ex gf....is ...of little words... Like, her whole family knows she is stubborn....as well as my own family knows...i run the show ..
Headstrong ....she would never call me and invite me.

But, they all say...we want to see you and just hang out

So do i go ...as a friend of the family only?
Not bring a present.

Or ..do i go and make an effort to make the girl smile? Hence, winning....make her mom happy.

Bring cupcakes?

Or make up an excuse.... sorry I can't make it. .

Probably is some context behind if the parents invited. A good approach would be to confirm, go late, bring a present, and eject if the situation is weird. Stay if not.

Hard to say. It depends....
It could be that her mom was just friendly and/or like you, (as in that she would like you to be her daughters bf), but her daughter doesn't anymore.

So meeting up at that part could be a really awkward moment if your ex doesn't know that you have been invited. On the other side if she does then everything will be fine obviously.

So It is all down to the situational thing when you meet her and the body language/signals that you were given and could read in that moment that makes it legit or not.

It depends if you want to bang her. If you do, go and see if you can take her upstairs and give her a quick creampie when nobody's looking.

The ex or the mom lol?

All joking aside, it’s your call OP. If you like her family and get along well, it’s ok to stop by. Bringing cupcakes is a nice gesture if you do go.

If you don’t feel like going, then you can find some excuse.

Don't be a character in someone elses story of drama. She is an ex. She had her chance she blew her chance. You moved on. The mom may still want you around the ex may want you around but all i see is drama here, expecially if the ex doesn't want you there and it's the mom's bone head idea.

Tell the mom it was nice to talk with her and you appreciate the invite but you already have plans.

OP the mature thing to do is to talk to your Ex, explaining that her mother invited you. "but if there is going to be tension, I won't attend."

Put the onus on her to keep the drama out. If she is at all concerned about her not looking butthurt, she will say "oh it's fine".

If she says "F-OFF and die" then politely tell the mother, that out of respect (for the mother) you are not going to show up and create any drama for her, But you really appreciate her thinking of you.

When you have kids but divorced or broke up with their mother you have to do this sort of thing often around birthdays and holidays and graduations. Be the bigger person. Doesn't mean you are a pushover...

Def a strange scenario. I am of the philosophy to cut all contact with exes. Ultimately, it is up to you, no one here can give you sound advice without proper context. Only you know if you should and only one way to find out.

I would say that if you do go, make a quick appearance and be polite. Be the better person but don't stick around for too long and excuse yourself should any tension or argument pop up.
