For the most part, I'm getting a new wardrobe this week. I'm taking the more casual route. The problem? I have no good shoes. I've been living on Reebok Classics for the past 6 years. Can someone point me in the right direction, a brand name will do. I'm not looking for anything fancy, but something with style that goes well with polos, sweaters, etc.

Don't get tennis shoes. Have a seperate pair of those for running/sports/whatever. For casual shoes, I don't know what brand to tell you. All I can think of for that would be like.... an upscale sneaker. Does that make sense? Not leather dress shoes, but just a comfortable sneaker style that looks pretty nice.

Maybe others can help you more than me.

This is gonna sound stupid but I find that the sketchers dress shoes go quite nice with jeans or khakis. They aren't really a dress shoe but kind of a casual business shoe I guess. I would never reccommend anything from sketchers but I kind of stumbled across them in the mall.

They run you about 50-60 bucks which is great on a budget and definiately don't look to dressy or too casual.

If you have a bigger budget or are looking for something higer quality then I am not sure but they work great for me. I suggest dark brown in whatever you get as that goes with the most colors and styles.

Here is the link, I don't think this is the exact pair I got but if not its almost the exact same.

Get a female friend to dress you! Shoes are probably the MOST important piece of clothing you can wear.

However you need to buy shoes that go with the rest of your outfit, no-one here can advise you because of this.

Sorry man, but bulky shoes just like the link you posted are definitely NOT the way to go. They are for average Joes and nerds.

Actually just within the Skechers product range you have pretty cool shoes, look here and here for example.

Gimme the top of coolguy's shoes and the sole of Le Parisien's shoes, and I'd take them. Otherwise, they both suck. Maybe I just don't like Skechers?

Like posted above - it really depends on your overall outfit. I personally like theese but they only work if the rest of your outfit allows it. Like, you couldn't wear bootcut jeans or too bright pants with them. Dark blue plain-cut jeans and a nice shirt however. They would also probably look a bit overkill if youre still very young. It all depends on your style, anything will work as long as you put some time and effort into your overall wardrobe.
Actually, clothes is one of the few areas you should ask girls for advice - pick a girl that seems concious of her and others appearance and ask her if she would help you go shopping... they almost always say yes as they are flattered by the fact you rely in their taste. And voilá - you got a fun innocent date and a personal shopping guide

Well what do you mean by casual? Business casual? Street casual?

If street (wearing jeans, shorts, whatever), I suggest the proven Air Force ones, alot fo them look nice, the all whites, all blacks, white and blues, whatever color you wear most I suggest.

For business casual, you are going to have to ask someone else, I'm 16 and only wear suits and **** for work/church/ whatever, and with those I've got a pair of really dress shoes, so I don't think you want any of my advice on those.

Also, timberland boots are nice casually both for business and street casual if you know what you are doing.

Air Force Ones are okay, but there overused by all the wannabe gansters in my school, haha. I'd go with Pumas or Penguins

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

assuming you're not filthy rich,

PUMA and ADDIDAS are nice sneakers that have a "casual dress"/hipster look that nike basketball shoes do not. looks great with jeans and khakis. addidas are my preferred.

johnston and murphy have some pretty nice dressy shoes for a pretty good price $80-$200. i recommend getting brown first and then black... a good, dark caramel brown goes better and easier with casual wear like jeans or khakis or on a date... particularly when it's warmer out, it just looks better. a black pair can wait.

luck

I find something black is the most versatile. What to pick?

Take a look some guys that you would consider "with-it/cool" and buy something similar. We all have different tastes depending on our age and location so hard to give a specific make/model answer.

I just got back from Macys. I picked up some of their in house brands. Some Alfani shirts, and some INC shirts. I also bought some Claiborne, and Kenneth Cole polos. So I'm looking for something to go with that type of outfit. I also picked up Allure, good stuff. My sister said Diesel shoes or Steve Madden. I've been browsing online, but so far I'm not THAT impressed.

I found a really nice pair (Ben Sherman), but I couldn't make out the striped colors. It was casual and simple, but also had a $190 price tag.
