I don't get all these crazy speculations. You saw a murder, so you report a murder. Doesn't matter what that guy did or if he deserved it or what. Just report it anonymously and carry on with your life. It's none of your business.

^ I agree, don't trust anyone.

I wouldn't say anything. MAYBE in an anonymous call from a pay phone, but I'm sure if the government wanted to, they could get some voice recognition.
You are aware of the reality of things - very smart!!

Maybe, just maybe it was a Mossad hit!!

Really, it seems you didn't get a good look at the perpetrator. You have nothing to report that the police could possibly use.

Morally, you're in the clear. I think if the police somehow knoe you were there, they would be banging on your door by now.

You can fill out a police report, but it will only be good for pointing the police in the right direction. The actual report is heresay and not admissible in court. You would have to testify to make much of a difference.

Read about half the replies... I think you need to call the cops and tell them what you saw. If there is someone that is that crazy out there you need to help get him off the streets. If someone shot one of you relatives, would you want a witness to come forward to help catch the scumbag. Even if he is in police custody, what you saw could make the case a slam dunk.

Plus maybe it will bring you good karma on the ponies :)

You should have posted this with a new sn since you already posted pics about yourself. I doubt gang members browse this site. . . .but it couldn't hurt to be extra careful.

I'd do everything reasonable and possible to get them put in prison.

I heard about a guy who chased down a man who had stolen a womans handbag the other day. Made me think if I was in the same situation as that guy, just comming home from work in his van and saw an old lady getting robbed I would want to do the same thing.

Pfft, shelfish people are almost always just cowards without the strength or intelligence to do the right thing.

well that's pretty easy for you to say.. a stolen handbag and watching aguy get his head blown off are two different things.

Above all... I'd rather be cautious and live to fight another day, however once I thought about it, I can take care of myself, the guy doesn't even know who I am, so I'm good. If I thought I would be putting my family or myself in any real danger, I wouldn't' have done it.

I'm a licensed handgun carrier, and even with that I wouldn't chase down a handbag thief. Property crime isn't worth the potential issues that come with a violent confrontation IMO, but I'd still call 911 instantly in both cases.

You essentially upped your VALUE in her eyes by showing her that, if she wants you, she has to at times do things that you like to do. You are SOMETHING after all. You are NOT FREE. If she wants to hang with you, it's going to cost her something — time, effort, money.

best thing to do would be to simply call the police, tell them what you saw annonymously over the phone, and that's it.

thankfully i live in canada and we don't have to deal with this kind of sh*t.

wtf is wrong with the USA anyway. insane sh*t like this happens everyday.

bloody crazy place to live.

Yes well I wouldn't put myself in too much danger, no need to risk your own health.
But I would sure confront someone over a stolen handbag, especially if they wern't very big. Their aren't many weapons in my area and virutally no gun crime, although I wouldn't dothe same in some places in the UK.

What if he's one in a million with a gun? What if he fights, you hurt him and you get sued into oblivion? Property crime is never worth violence for me, but a call to 911, sure.

You already talked to police, I understand? The only right thing to do. Sorry if this is sounding harsh, but backbreaker, you sounded like a whiny assed bytch to me... The guy didn´t see you, didnt´ see your car, you don´t know if it was a mafia or gang hit, you don´t even live there, you don´t have kids or a wife to worry about, and you´re making up all this bullshyt about potential threats to you.
A guy got shot, and it is your duty to talk to police, and in this situation where risk for you is minimal it is a must. If good men start looking the other way, society is going to hell for good, it has been said already.
