This morning I visited I showed up at my dentist for a teeth cleaning. The same lady has been cleaning my teeth since March 2013, this slim White Jewish lady that has preety face, and I expected to see her today. Except the office didn't tell me she went on leave and there would be another hygenist. Instead I got this fat, not so pretty Black lady with an African accent.

I went ahead with the appointment because I reasoned, this is a dental hygene visit, and I'm just taking care of my teeth. It's not like it's a date or visiting an escort or anything like that (which I don't do). Then I felt disappointed because she didn't handle my teeth the same way as the other lady did. It's like there was no enjoyment in this. It was just blah and was waiting for the session to finish. Asked for a discount, and they told me that I got a discount since they actually increased the price and will be charging me the same as before, which comes like a discount. (The receptionist was a hot SBBW lady, but was thinking too much about the other hygenist that wasn't there rather than anyone else).

So I'm figuring, how should I have played this? If you were in my position, and you saw a different lady then the one you expected, would you have freaked out and walked out, or gone ahead with the appointment? Would you have made a scene and inquired about where the other lady is, and reschedule the appointement for when she's actually there? I felt I dealt with the wrong woman now with my teeth. I mean, I know a woman is a woman...but...some women have a punch or charisma on how they clean your teeth. Now I don't have a good memory or experience of my latest teeth cleaning, and it's like going to be meh.

I don’t like it when they swap hygienists. I get anxious going to the dentist, but keeping the same hygienist helps a lot. My regular hygienist is super cool. She talks most of the session and jokes a lot.

I only got swapped out to another hygienist maybe twice in 5 years.

When my regular (favorite) hygienist looks at the calendar to set up the next appointment, I specifically ask her “Is that with you?” In other words, I’m willing to push out the next appointment (until she returns) if she’s on vacation.

But if they swap out hygienists suddenly for some unknown reason (or unplanned leave), I don’t what you can really do.

It's a strike one against the dentist though. This was the first swap out liek this. I don't want this to turn into a quality of service thread (ie felt the quality of the service was inferior was well, she didn't do as great as a job as the regular hygenist)...but the options are also to make a scene, and ask to reschedule the appointment. If the hygenist was a male, there is a bigger chance I may have done that, but then I thought, it was another woman, and we can see how our chemistry is. I mean it's okay to have another lady hygenist once in a while for a change. However, we didn't have as great chemistry as the regular one. It's like a meh date if you know what I mean. But then again, a woman is a woman right?

OP treating every service workers as his OnlyFans subs
Actually this world (as we know it) will be coming to an end soon and a Return of Jesus Christ in the clouds to remove His Saints (aka Rapture) will be taking place any moment now. (ie there has been allot of Rapture dreams and rumours a nuke from Putin will hit NYC after the elections plunging the North American contient into the dark ages). If you miss the Rapture then life will be hell on earth afterwards.

You really think I'm going to sub with OnlyFans women in light of these issues? What kind of a madman do you take me for? I don't want to miss the Rapture! One has to get their affairs in order? Not worried about getting laid and fapping to porn, escorts, or OnlyFan girls, otherwise, one will soon lose their appetite when they see what will be unfolding on the face of the Earth.

You essentially upped your VALUE in her eyes by showing her that, if she wants you, she has to at times do things that you like to do. You are SOMETHING after all. You are NOT FREE. If she wants to hang with you, it's going to cost her something — time, effort, money.

Here's how I've handled this situation before....I followed thru with the new hygienist appointment and didn't make a big deal about it. When I was done and went to pay my bill, I had the receptionist make a note in my account to reschedule my appointment any time my normal hygienist isn't available. I've been seeing my same hygienist for 20yrs. She does an amazing job, great personality, good looking, and if she wasn't married her and I would have dated a long time ago. ;-)

I have such a good relationship with my hygienist that she will stay late if I need an appointment after regular hours.

The reason you should always follow thru with these situations is you might end up getting someone better. Or maybe you end up hitting it off with the new girl and she wants to suck you off in the dental chair.

Bro good story.

But when you start talking about escorts on a dental checkup, and then defend yourself about not visiting them when no one has accused you, it starts to fall apart.

”How was the cleaning today?”
”Can I get a discount?”
”For what purpose.”
”Well, the hygienist wasn’t tender with my teeth.”
”Oh Im sorry, ok we can give you $25 off.”
”Did I also mention she was black, fat, not pretty, and spoke with an African accent?”

"Grown man considers leaving his dental provider due to receiving a less-sexy new hygienist" was not on my BINGO card this year.
Most single men are not asking their dental hygienists to go on dates.

But I thought the appointment itself was a like a date. I mean if you are enjoying her company and how she is handling your mouth and feel excited to see her. There is a great repport. Having her massage your gums with the metal pick that takes out the grime below the gums. You are trusting a lady, who knows your mouth, to handle your mouth and teeth. It felt like I got stood-up when she wasn't there this time.

My regular hygienist is good company almost like a friend (even though I know it’s just professional courtesy). She is attractive ngl. But nice and super chill. She usually rambles on about hubby, her kids and vacations lol. But it’s better than being dry and all business, which is what I’d get if they swapped her out with some stranger.

Exactly. That is what I'm talking about.
