I think there is no more pernicious force in the world, in gender relations, in the corruption of female behavior than instagram.

TikTok and Snapchat can be lumped into this category I suppose as well, but on a smaller scale.

No other instrument has so wholly captured the attention and thought patterns of any decently looking girl who decided to hop on this dopamine stimulating train.

It has entirely reduced the importance of anything besides the physical, the visceral, the expensive looking.

It has entirely normalized fishing for Prince Charming even more than the dating apps have. Hey, at least tinder is localized to a radius around you, and limits you to 5 or so photos. This beast, on the other hand, is fully, and endlessly streamlined into your life and many women find it completely consistent with their actual conscious experience of reality. It doesn't matter what you are doing. Eating food, walking your dog, anything your closest circle posts on any topic you mindlessly repeat, anything else but conforming completely is simply intolerable.

Maybe it has only revealed what was already there, maybe we should be grateful it exposed the true, disgusting nature of women, and then men in turn that they seek on these platforms.

And on the other end of the spectrum, the worst ideas, i.e. pointless self-help and "acceptance" of wholly unacceptable things like obesity, are carefully promoted by the excellently designed algorithms.

If there was a prophet of what the dystopian world looks like, he would describe this tool as the harbinger of those times.

TikTok and Snapchat are largely derivates of instagram and I agree are large contributors. They should also be banned if someone had some moral backbone in Washington.

Facebook is largely dead, filled with bots and boomers.

Onlyfans would die when these other platforms go away, real world normalization of interactions would resume and it would fall to the wayside like other forms of pornogrpahy.

Pick your poison. Social media in general isn't all that social, but much of it relies on how you use the social media to your advantage without letting it claim too much mind space.

For me, Instagram works fine as it's not a dating app, so it's easier to make connections without being thirsty. And women easier follow / message you on IG than enjoy exchanging telephone numbers. As for chatting with a woman, IG is even easier because often you can see from their IG what their life is like and whether it's compatible with your goals.

It's basically like a drug where attention and likes get them high while being ignored or facing critics drives them into depression.

The closer thing for men that comes in my mind is either p0rn for adults and videogames for teenagers.

The most ridicolous thing however is that women for the first time now openly challenge each other in term of status in those apps, they flex with travels, expensive objects, yatchs and jewels.

They dont realize that while such things would turn them on if observed on a man, they basically make them appear as cheap wh0res in terms of value and too expensive in terms of management.

Even more funny is that they all look the same in their flexing.

The biggest trick however is that unlike on facebook, you dont establish a mutual connection but you can have people to follow you without you acknowledging them...this is like the extra dose of dopamine for narcisistic people.

Humans are very egotistical and very competitive so all this behaviour was already present

Instagram just allows people to adequately express it

Women take it too are hyper competitive from young because that is in part their mating strategy they need to be picked by the best possible male

Its why they spend thousands on clothes , makeup , lingerie , plastic surgery

But they also have a fetish for competing amongst themselves who has the best car , house , husband , wardrobe , jewellery etc etc

Instagram facilitates this competition and thats all it is a competition absolutely nobody can win

It seems to me fatigue is setting in instagram has changed a lot in 10 years

trends are burning themselves out very very quickly compared to maybe 5 years go

Nobody really wants to be seen as the last one in on a trend anymore where as a few years ago it was very much " I want to be involved"

Also more and more people are becoming aware " perfect" is a very heavy word to carry 24 hours a day 7 days a week especially after you move out of your 20's
