As a self-employed business owner you would be surprised how many women between the ages of 17-24 that contact me asking if I am looking for someone in office work. Or they'll be on a Facebook page devoted to local people looking for employment. They all have the same d@mn story, "I'm pregnant or I just had a baby and it's so hard, I need a job bad! Please help me!" and then you look at their Facebook page or ask them questions on the phone and it's the same story over and over. The boyfriend is a dumb@$$ who is currently working on his GED because he dropped out of school and he has a criminal record so nobody in their right mind will hire them. Then you find out from these girls that "they have to run it by their boyfriend to see if they can work for you because little Johnny might get upset finding out she's working for a dude."

If you want to know why your taxes or so high it's because it's going to stupid @$$ "couples" like this who don't have a plan for life past 5 mins or probably can't walk and talk at the same time because they are that d@mn stupid. I mean if you're going to get knocked up at least do it with a guy that has a job and a highschool diploma or SOME college and SOME common sense. And for God sakes don't contact someone wanting a job and have 20 pics of you standing in front of a mirror flipping off the camera like an idiot. And yeah, employers DO look through your facebook pics and posts because we need to know everything about you before we go putting our company's reputation on the line by hiring you.

Where are all the smart, educated girls without kids that want a job??? I'm hiring!

We are seeing what happens in the 21st century when women get to "have it all".

Sex at will, getting knocked up, being thrust in careers they hate to support their fatherless child (a soul sucking job that erodes at their natural feminine intuition), and adopting male tendencies like aggression and profanity as a result. And yet when it comes up as a topic of discussion they're hailed by the masses as heroes for working 2-3 jobs to support their kids. Doing what they have no choice but to do as a result of their poor decisions makes these single moms untouchable queens. I don't think so.

All hope is not lost though. My little brother has been with a feminine, passive, supportive girl for 4 years that truly compliments him. One of my best friends is in a similar situation where a girl has stood by him for several years through 10 arrests and 2 DUI's after the loss of his brother to drug overdose. These women are rare - I've not yet come across one myself. But it's a pleasure to associate with them when I see them.

I remember I was on a date with a girl, half way through she was like "Ya I got knocked up ............" she said she kept the kid and all. I had no effing idea. The father was out of the picture. It is safe to say I never contacted her again. Single mother + kid + no father + no job? Ya im good.

BUT. To spread some good energy in this thread, I used to bang this one single mom who had a daughter, her father was in and out of the picture. She was the hardest ****ing worker I have ever seen. She went from working at DD to being an RN and going to school at the same time as working. She juggled a lot of stuff. We need more people like her in this world, if we people are going to get knocked up they better be prepared to work their asses off like her to support that child.

I live in the NYC metro area, and the closer you get to the city, the bigger your pool gets of people who are young, educated, driven, and have no kids. Once you get into the burbs, youll notice more people who get knocked up young, dont finish school, and have jobs that arent great.

This is not to say that this doesnt happen in big cities...because it does all the time. This is just to say that in a place like NYC...thats where all the jobs are, where so many schools are, and people try to live close to it. The further you go in the burbs, there's less places to find a good career, population falls off greatly, and youll notice some locals

As a young guy whos got a couple college degrees, and a couple industry certifications in his field, I can tell you that dating in the burbs leaves MUCH to be desired. Less women to go around in general...but definitely less educated women without kids too.

The women who make a plan to have it all, get their education and career in order BEFORE having kids. The kind of people OP is talking about, are losers who never get much education, have kids young, and usually dont end up with good careers.

While I do know a couple of people who had kids very young, and then went on to finish college and have good careers, they are rare. And for many people who have kids young, children are a monkey wrench in their plans to finish school in a good time frame. Usually kids are such a huge obligation that college takes twice as long to finish for many people.

The problem is that since the 1960s, there's less cultural pressure to get married. Also, there's a lot more people in this nation, there are less jobs in certain parts of the nation that need them, and wages have stagnated. And if the wages havent stagnated they have lowered in many jobs where people used to be able to raise a family without much education.

Also its more common for dudes to either bail on a girl, or if he sticks around, they both may not have great jobs. There's a lot of blame to go around with the things Ive mentioned...but its on young people to educate themselves, make good decisions, and plan for the future. Ive had pregnancy scares myself, and I could easily have gotten some young girl pregnant in my youth, and us both end up taking forever to finish school.

Somehow Ive lucked out, and then I matured to the point where I went to school, graduated, got some credentials, and into the work force. While I sometimes easily bash young people for being immature and making dumb decisions, I could easily be in their shoes, had some chick gotten pregnant back when I was running around hooking up, while working a crap job, and playing in a local band.

This pisses me off too. So many losers and leeches. These are the people who make it harder on everyone else. I know people whove busted their ass despite being young and with kids. Why cant these losers do it?

My homegirl who Ive known for a decade, is one of the most hardest working people youll ever meet. She got pregnant young, and she worked her ass off in crap jobs before catching a break in her field while still in college. She wasnt making much, but it was full time, steady, and had good benefits. Meanwhile she tried to make her relationship work with her baby's father for several years before finally kicking the loser to the curb.

It took her a long time but she finally finished her degree, is getting certified, and will get a nice pay raise thanks to her degree, certification, and years of experience. And she's enrolling in grad school too.

Did she get help from the system during some tough times? Yes. But she never leeched in order to sit around and not work hard. She always busted her tail for her kid...and is making something out of herself. Shes a goddamn inspiration to young parents out there, if Ive ever seen one.

I'm not looking to support anyone, just an employer trying to find good, honest help that I can depend on. My point was that it makes it hard as he!! to find the good women that I can trust, when all I'm seeing applying for jobs are the one's like I mentioned. It is very likely my area as I live in a semi-small town that's VERY liberal. As a taxpayer I know exactly where my tax money is going and why there are so many single moms around here. Now, I will gladly hire a single mom if she doesn't bring drama to my business and wants to work hard. Gladly give her a shot! The problem is finding those types! I don't want some highschool dropout that doesn't have a car and a bum for a boyfriend and expect me to hire them just because. As a self-employed business owner you have to be VERY careful who you hire. This isn't some fortune 500 company where I can take a big gamble and lose. I know what I'm looking for in an employee, it's just finding it is what is so frustrating. What also doesn't help is my salary I list for the job seems to attract bums like flies at a picnic.

My biggest issue with women is not that they are attention *****s.. they are lol. Or the fact that they are finicky.. they are. Or that they make 90% of their decisions based off emotions.. they do. Or that the good looking ones walk around with everything handed to them on a silver ****ing platter, born on 3rd base and swear up and down that they hit a triple in life, they do that too..

I know another woman who just got put in jail, for harboring her fugitive boyfriend. she did nothing wrong besides refuse to make her boyfriend leave / turn himself in.

Seems to be the case. I noticed in my area, of the people I went to college with, those that graduated moved to the big city or at least near it. And if they didnt move, they commute to the city for work.

My area just seems chocked full of too many young women with kids. And if they are young without kids, not many are educated or well employed.

Youll get lower class workers for low class pay. The job market around the nation has gotten better somewhat better. I dont know about your area...but educated people arent desperate for any old job as much as they were in the middle of the recession.
