I like them.
But I doubt you'll use it as much as you think.

Just be sure to buy an SS.

Ive had a few Camaros and currently have an '02 Trans Am.
T-tops are great.
If you're into power get a Z28 or an SS. Not much difference between the 2 besides a hood and a few suspension mods.

I'm not a camarro guy, although it's a great car. I went with a mustang. Out of mustangs I'd get mach1 or cobra. 11.5 to high 12 with exhaust and suspension mods.

Be warned about stangs and camarros and any other car like that. Pain comes when you park them. You just might come back to a nasty dent.

That's that. Also do know about fuel. 15 gallon tank, you'd be getting 12 to 15 mpg, or if you don't like AC and can drive easy 17 mpg. That's $120 out of your pocket every week.

Plus, expensive insurance, and yea, you will want full coverage.

Also, tires cost a lot too. Cheapest would run you $150 for a single tire. It should last you 15k miles.

Know that comarros in comparison to mustangs aren't as well made. A lot of plastics rattle, etc. But they are faster, lol.

If I was buying my mustang now, I'd say no and go for a compact four banger, perhaps SVT car or even a civic. Because of fuel, insurance, tires, maintenance, etc.

Also, a lot of people say U.S. economy will collapse this year. Possibly during holidays while people are busy. That means dollar will become worthless. No fuel. Riots. Etc. I'd wait and invest money into gold & silver instead.

You'd love it. I've got a Z28 with t-tops. You'll use the hell out the them when you first get it, but it'll die down after awhile (kinda like anything really). Make sure you get a Z. As for the 98-02 models don't even worry if it's a Z or an SS, there's really no difference other than wheels, hood, and spoiler. They both got the same motor and the horsepower difference is negligible... seriously. Not to mention an SS with cost more than a Z and all because of an appearance package. Personally I prefer the Z, it's alot more rare than an LS1 SS. As for gas mileage... if you get ANY less than 20mpg on a mostly stock LS1 somethings wrong (16 gallon tank). My LT1 (which got worse gas mileage) has never dipped below 20 and I drive the p*ss out of it.

Just get ready to spend money on modifications. Whether or not you think you will, you'll eventually want to make it faster. Tires aren't as bad as everyone thinks either. You can get Kumhos for $100 a piece or less, and they're a decent tire all-around. Personally out of the 98-02 range I would get a '00 or up. They got the better LS6 manifold.

But you will enjoy the car (assuming you get a V8), trust me :D .

If you want more info, go to www.camaroz28.com It's a great site and you'll learn alot about the car, there's several guys on the board that really know their stuff.

'01-02 is the "LS6" intake.
And no way is a Z more rare than an SS. But yea theres only about a 15HP difference and thats mainly cause of the hood.
