2 weeks have past since the beginning of the year and all I can say about school is that you guys were right, its harder then I expected, but I'm also very motivated and it seems like I'm going to get a scholarship so that only means more money for drinks.

The social life is great, and although there aren't lots of girls in this field (like Le Parisien warned me) I am lucky and landed in dorm 1. Its notorious for its crazy parties.

I'm pretty pleased with my decision up until now.

Thanks all you guys for replying in this thread.

I'm studying Information and Knowledge Management(MSc. Tech) at Tampere University of Technology and I think this degree seems pretty great. Mathematics and physics really aren't my passion but in this degree they really don't play a major role. It's a mix of computer science, business, psychology and law and it really gives you a broader vision on things compared to the "tube sight" of normal engineering degrees. I think I couldn't study something that's purely technical but it's naturally a personal preference. Of course there's a lot of work but that really doesn't matter if you're really interested in the subject. According to our professor engineers who know a lot about business& human behaviour plus have some knowledge about engineering are really in high demand so I'd suggest you'll also take on some business classes.

WAIT TO THE LAST MINUTE! take care of all of your general ed or other required classes you may need. The biggest mistake you can make is to think you know what career you want and 2 years later be stuck with something that is not the love of your life.
