Do you want to be a professor of psychology?
Not so much. I dont have much desire to teach but at some point later down the road that might change. Research is always interesting and beneficial, depending on how practical it is. Before i wanted to have a private practice and all that good stuff but that isnt as interesting now and its the "cliche" road to take, which is why i was interested in i/o. After doing more research i think social psych is what i need to focus on. I knew social psych dealt with groups, group dynamics, and other social aspects, but i thought i/o dealt with the samethings and applied them. I plan to get my PhD regardless of what i do because i want a variety of possibilities for myself.

I'm in the same boat as you. I love social psych research, but a Ph.D in it only really prepares you to be a professor. There aren't that many jobs out there for Ph.Ds in research psychology outside of academia, so professorship here I come!

Im sure there would be a wide range of opportunities. Marketing and consumer behavior are always an option i suppose. Where do you wanna go to grad school at, and hows the application process?

True, true. Though what does a Bachelor's or Master's get you?

A PhD is still probably the best way into any field related to social psychology. And it's the best way to be in charge if you work in industry.
