Totally insightful post. I've been down this road in the past myself, and this thread gives some clarifications. We were banging every day in a row and suddenly it dropped off -- I was hook line and sinker in and she knew it, and I got douched in the end.

Regarding this girl, I think you totally made the right decision, she would cause you a great deal of drama keeping these games going, you'd be distracted and caught-up. Not worth it.
