I think women are more shallow than men. I don't think it's equal. It can't be equal, or there wouldn't be hypergamy. You either believe in hypergamy or you believe in equal shallowness.

Take a girl and a guy, both with 5 looks, and send them both into a bar to find a partner for the night. Which one is more likely to get laid?

My money is on the chick because finding a guy who isn't shallow is easy. As for the guy, we should buy him a drink as a consolation prize before he goes home watch porn lol.

*I'm just talking about looks. Wildcards like money or status are outside the scope of this discussion.

Of course women are more shallow and superficially picky than men. On average 90-95% of the time a male is willing to mate with a given female, and a female is only willing 5-10% of the time. If men were equally as shallow as women then it would be 50/50% of the time, there'd be no female hypergamy, and about every male would get laid the same amount.

I have an outgoing, friendly personality, although, I can't imagine the amount of rejections I would get if I was a few inches shorter and a couple points off the attraction scale.

It's a waste when guys who are taller and better looking than me are afraid to approach. Women are waiting for those guys and rejecting guys in their league. Nobody wins.

Anyways, life would suck if I was 5'5" with a 5 face.

Just because a dude would smash a 5 doesnt mean hes less shallow. Ive known guys who are plenty shallow, but will screw a girl he doesnt find the most attractive just because he wants sex. Doesnt mean she gets him super horny, and it doesnt mean hes gonna stick around.

Id say smashing unattractive chicks for the sake of smashing is as shallow as hypergamy. At the end of the day the shallow guy wont be settling down with that 5 he decided to smash.

Same, Im 5'9, and Ive usually been rated a 6 or 7 depending on the girl. And those rare times an 8. However, as I said in my previous post, once I grew my hair and got a better looking body, I definitely noticed girls being more into me.

So while I do think some chicks in my league will straight up ignore me, I think having my style and fitness on point really keeps me in the game. Taller guys and better looking guys can get away with not looking their best all the time. And I agree with the last thing you said. Id hate dating if I was shorter than I am now or less facially aesthetic.

I feel for people who got that raw deal.

I've posted pictures on a website...hotornot.com. I was rated a 9.3 on average for one pic, and an 8.8 for the other pic. The last time a chick rated me, she gave me a 10. The one before that gave me an 8.

by the way, the OP has the all-american/abercrombie look (really northern european if you think about it). For his age, I'm not surprised about the attention he gets and I'm pretty sure if that's his picture, he gets lots of attention online.

What's funny is that younger girls are desperate for looks, they will do all sorts of weird and psycho **** to get with a good looking guy. Comedy at its finest. The good looking girls never do it but the insecure average girls do it so many times, they are so desperate for validation.

when I was growing up I always had it easy. Played soccer well and had dates with the prettiest girls in high school. Then I got to college and started to talk to girls more and more. When I sat around with them at group lunches and group dinners they would keep talking about guys and what they liked in a guy's looks and what they hated.

I always had good looks (facially I am a 9/10), girls smile at me whenever I go out, and I had so much good treatment from girls that I never recognized how easy I had it. Then sitting down with girls from college and seeing them say so much **** about guys I was friends blew my mind.

I have one friend who is sorta chubby but he is the nicest guy I know. One time I had to get up and leave a chick fila because the girls I was sitting with were talking so much **** about him.

Now I know why Manosphere bloggers get so pissed at women.....

I find the recent trend of double standards in the media and the public infuriating sometimes- women in one big group can ogle men, apparently, but the other way round is like a crime, and the man gets a wrist slap for expressing any kind of fetish. I was depressed for years because of our social pressures with beauty affected most of my life, seeking professional help and help with self-abuse, but now my fears actually have some justification to them.

Meanwhile, guys are chasing their tales trying to figure what personality/game they need develop to be accepted by women and get sex. Never realizing or accepting that it's an excercise in futility because they are being ostracised based on their looks and appearance.

To females a man is either a "hot" guy that is deserving of sex and respect, or he's subhuman and to be disrespected, ignored and neglected.

I went through major depression/self-abuse in my teens and twenties because of this ‘phenomenon’. I went on to help charities, where all walks of life are accepted and celebrated for things they have actually DONE, to get away from all this as much as possible. I care much less about shallow pop culture nowadays because of what it creates.

I never thought he would get a girlfriend yet somehow he does. She's a thin 21 year old girl. She's average, certainly not the best looker but you wouldn't turn her down.

I have no doubts about his good personality.

But I personally think it's broad shoulders and physical dominance that work for fat dudes.

A short skinny guy with the same personality wouldn't do so well.
