Master Don Juan
I read an article in Monday's paper about testicular cancer becoming more and more common in young men.
So I decided to examine myself, and found a decent-sized growth along the right epididymis (the tissue above your nut that holds it there). There was no lump on the testicle itself so I wasn't sure what to think.
I did a bit of research and found that a tumour can grow here but it is rare. It definitely did feel cancerous compared to the left side.
The next morning I woke up with swelling on the right side, my lower abdomen was feeling the pinch also.
Because I was swollen to nearly double size I could no longer feel the area with the swelling I clearly noticed the night before. I wanted to see the doctor, but figured that he won't be able to feel the growth.
So I waited a two days (was VERY busy anyway) mentally preparing myself for the shock that was to come. I was project manager at a first meeting with a client for a large IT industry project. I soldiered through that unaffected, even though I turned a little queasy when I put two and two together:
The planned website is to be called bollockswatch.org.....
My nutsack was throbbing and my mind was churning with thoughts of losing a nut, but nobody (friends, family, girls on the street) noticed that something was troubling me.
This confidence thing must have worked so well for me that walking around in a suit in the state I was in still managed to exude confidence. (??)
So the swelling didn't go down and I was forced to see the doctor just 1 hour ago. Like I thought, he could only feel the swelling (not the pronounced growth) and seemed to be more concerned about a possible hernia.
My nuts were PERFECTLY fine before I examined myself - no swelling, regular size, zero pain, lots of ejaculation power . How can there have been a hernia if it only swelled up now?
I insisted on getting a referral for an ultrasound which he gave me. He also referred me to a surgeon to examine me, in case his hernia theory was true.
I'm not a pessimist, but I believe the growth I felt was cancer. It was definitely not intestine (a hernia). I've had a hernia before and I know my body.
However, I'm not afraid. I've had major operations and illnesses before and I know testicular cancer has a 90% cure rate. If the test results prove me right, I'll fight this thing with all the spirit and self-confidence I've gained in past 6 months thanks to this site.
Please guys, inspect your balls now. It's better to find out sooner rather than later.
The ultrasound is in 1.5 hours. Wish me luck people.
