Has anyone read this book by Tucker Max.

It's a compilation of the recorded memoirs of Tucker Max, a former law student from Duke who spent the majority of his 20s drinking, hooking up with random chicks and basically acting like an idiot. It probably is worth reading for guys who frequent these message boards because Tucker claims to have slept with over 200 women (And I believe him).

Just finished it the other day, and I've got a couple of things I wanted to discuss.

First and foremost, I thought the book was good and funny, but I wasn't shocked very much by many of the stories. It just reminded me of the conversations me and my friends from college have when we sit around and reminisce. Don't get me wrong - the stories were hilarious, but very seldom did he talk about something I haven't experienced personally or watched one of my friends experience.

Also was trying to figure out, is Tucker a natural or did he learn how to get women to be attracted to him. It seems to me that he is more of a natural than anything, but he does talk about some relationships and other experiences that made him see the error of his ways.

Greatest piece of literature...ever! Any guy worth his salt (and especially those who aren't) should read this book. If you read one book before you die...this is the one imo.

Tucker is more or less a natural from what I can tell. He makes lots of references to DJ techniques but uses none of the lingo which makes me think he came up with it/learned it all on his own.

Is 200 women really a lot? I mean for a guy that's good enough to be writing a book about it. I mean hell, Wilt Chamberlain claimed 20,000.

I think Tucker said he was good, (got laid in highschool) but also had huge flaws, like being very desperate for pvssy. He said he had to work really hard, practice often, and get rejected a lot.

I've heard that claim too, but do the math. If you had a different girl every single day of a year=365. 20,000/365=55years. This seems totally implossible getting at least one different girl every day for that length of time into that old of age. I serious doubt if anyone has sex 20,000 times in a lifetime, let alone with 20,000 different women. This claim seems way over-inflated. I would bet even prostitutes, porn stars and rocks stars, etc only get to the high 100's, to very low thousands mostly.

I don't know about you guys, but when drinking is involved, hooking up is no problem. No skill involved. They just jump you.

If Tucker got into Duke law, then he was a very intelligent guy.

I can also tell you, and my GFs from law school have all agreed, that law school guys are hopeless with women. Imagine combining your math, science, chess, and quiz bowl teams from high school all under the same roof. So fwiw, Tucker did well to excel as a law student.

dude, I'm 31 and it still works that way :)

And there are guys here who are 50, and I bet it is still the same for them. I am learning, as I get older and have talked to more women, that most guys will just never initiate with a girl; they're too scared.

I'm 19 too, and I get rejected all the time even with alcohol involved... Then again, my face isn't exactly eye candy.

It takes blood, sweat and tears for me to land a catch, even at my age.

To the OP: the book is pretty cool, but I felt cheated after buying it... why, you ask? Because the book is just a paperback copy of his website... All the same articles, etc. I was expecting new material, but no.

All that aside; fun read.

It doesn't help that we can get charged for sexual harassment, or seen as a creep by all her friends, if we're wrong.

Yeah you're right here completely.

I read in an interview with him that he got a lot of chicks in college by heading over to Chapel Hill (UNC) and took advantage of the ratio (like 65 percent chicks, 35 percent guys). He said of those guys all of them acted like you described - nerdy and really bad with women.

Tucker is a fan of the Game. He had it as a book review on his site at one point which is where I heard of him.

He is a natural of sorts. His book actually kind of disgusted me though.

I mean I'm a party guy and all but I guess I dont always like to tell all. I couldn't imagine writing a book about all the girls I've banged. I imagine one day he might regret this book.
