I'm afraid you falsely confuse pride with racism. I believe you are very prejudiced against anyone that shows a little respect for the people that came before us. And it's apparent that you are actually ashamed of you Spanish ancestry. EVERY people has committed terrible crimes. EVERY people.
Tell me, why are American Indians allowed to be proud? Why is Chuck Norris proud of his three drops of Indian blood?

Some peoples pride can be a mask for other emotions.
Not at all, everybody should be very proud of its ancestry, but do it in the privacy of their home.
I am ashamed of some of the THINGS they did, not of what they where.
So Germans and Jews are the same right? oh please!!!
Because we took their land and killed most of their people, we confined them to reservations and destroyed their habitat, ALL THEY HAVE IS THEIR PRIDE.

Let me see, you know about Jewish history, you know your Norse-Germanic background, you know about Slavs and their Viking connection, you know about WW2, you ask why Native americans and Jews can be very proud and you can't, you made little comments like you would "defend" any Italian, and at the same time you pretend to not know what Sig Hail means???

And some are just proud. It's a shame that you are so mistrusting that you automatically assume the worst in people.
That seems very sneaky. Why are you so afraid of pride? Have you ever been proud of you home team?
And guess what, I'm proud of the good things my ancestors did. I accept the bad things and learn from them.
How are they different in your mind? They're all humans, right? They both have unique cultures that they should be free to celebrate.
And certain tribes did that to other tribes. ALL other peoples have faced a form of genocide at one time. By your own logic, then, ALL peoples are allowed to be proud.

I am not mistrusting, i have studied race matters for far to long not to notice these things.
I am not afraid of pride, i am afraid of what some people consider pride, i am afraid of supremacist of all colors and shapes.
I am also proud of mine, but i just try to be considerate and not try to act as nothing happened, theres still too many people whos lives are still hell because of what some of our ancestors did, the least we could do is to keep our mouths shut and not ask for equality.
Yes, but the Jews have been hunted down for thousands of years, and their culture and religion is all they have to survive, while Germans have used pride to commit some of the most inhumane acts in history, if a Jew shows pride who cares, but if a German shows pride we pay attention, why? because some people use culture and pride for survival, and others use it to destroy.
Show me one example of native americans leaving their continent to destroy and conquer another race and another culture??

I wouldn't be proud if my people had gotten a$$holed like that. All it proves is the inferiority of their arms development. Seeing as many tribes were warlike I don't want to hear any excuses about how they didn't need weapons. Of course, I'd be most ashamed of the fact that none of my ancestors ever came up with the wheel.

The idea I presented has helped me gain confidence. I figured I would pass it along in case it could help someone else.
You know, I have found that "minorities" respect people that have a little pride. Why? Because they have pride in their history. When you are ashamed of your past to the point where you dare not express even the most innocent form of pride in public, you look pathetic indeed. Pride, for me, is love. It's love because I have found true pride--not some blind unjustified pride.
You, jlujan, say you are proud of your ancestors secretly. Do you have any idea how sneaky and scared you sound?
Not long ago I did a short presentation on the Vikings for a class. I was proud to teach those people some things about the Viking culture they didn't know before. Guess what? I'm still here. The world didn't end. No black students in the class ran around screaming "racism."

And, btw, if you really want to argue about non-DJ related topics(which you have turned this into and I apologize to everyone for that), you can do it in PMs.

He does have a point about Germany running a two front war. They didn't get their ass kicked, they just got gang banged by the rest of us. Russia could have fallen over a dozen times in WW2. The german panzers got so close to moscow they could see the towers.
