It rarely ends well for the guy end of the transaction, but in my case, my ex married the guy she was cheating on me with (he was also married and cheating on his wife) and now 22 years later they are still married. And never had any children that might force them to stay together. I don't think any reasonable person would have given that marriage even a 30% chance of surviving even 10 years, much less 20+.

I can attest to this as my mother was the same way. She wanted to cheat on my dad around this time period and was an absolutely horrible mother and wife. Anyone else who would have treated me, my siblings, and my father that badly would have been beat until death, if not by my dad then by me. But she is my mother so we cannot do that. Karma came back to her though because she has MS now so she will slowly become a cripple and die.
