I know this has probably been brought up before in some C&F thread but I was reading about this earlier and realised I would have absolutely no response if I found myself in this all too common situation:

"sorry I have a boyfriend"

How exactly do you respond to this? Preferably I want to say something that's going to break the awkward tension that has no doubt arisen. Anything but remain quiet or say "sorry" or something incredibly AFC.

I'm not necessarily looking to "steal" her away so to speak but I wanna leave her with a C&F remark to make sure she knows it didn't affect me or in some cases say something that would make her sound like she's got the wrong man. You know what I mean. Is it possible to carry on a conversation from there?

Just take a second and picture yourself in that position where the girl you were hitting on suddenly tell you she has a boyfriend. Being the Don Juan that you are, you think on your feet, flash her your suave smile and quickly respond with _______________.

(btw I did do a search and came up with jack sh*t!!!)

Here are a couple classics I've heard...
"Would you like a better one?"
"Well, I'm not asking for his number."

"Oh I don't mind"

Some women say that they are dating someone exclusively to put up their anti-slut shield and some are just plain not interested. Most women aren't satisfied with their relationship, that's a fact. If the woman tells you that she's seeing someone exclusive, keep up the friendly conversation, she might be lying about it simply because she's shy or she wasn't too interested when you first met. If you find out that she is telling the truth, end the conversation on a friendly note and walk away. Being cheated on doesn't feel good, i personally would never cheat on my gf and i hope she reciprocates the feeling. Respect the fact that she's seeing someone exclusive, if by chance things didnt work out so well and she has your number and was interested when you guys first met, you might very well get a call from her.

......?

haha, that has NEVER happened to me, even the chicks that DID have boyfriends never told me that.

Chances are... she says "i have a boyfriend" because she is UN INTERESTED.

Not to be harsh or anything, but if you are talking to a chick, and she tells you "I have a boyfriend" an automatic warning light should go off in your head screaming "stop!!! your looking too desperate! you look like your picking her up!"

please, if a girl said that to me, my first initial reaction would be something like "haha, excuse me?"

but i would probaly tell her somehting more funny and ****y.

a DJ isnt some guy who comes over to a girl and drools over her, hell no! he comes over, shows off his goods, and gets the girl to drool over him!

Hence, you would NEVER EVER say something that would make it feel like a pick-up attempt, and make her have to block you with the "i have a boyfriend"

I mean, come on, wtf would you say to someone you meet that would result in her answering you like that?

quote if you have to, but i really need some examples of the conversation from teh begining, up to the poing of "i have a boyfriend"

Oreo, can you tell me where you're talking to these women? Because i will NEVER want to meet those women. If a woman with a boyfriend has atleast a shred of integrity, she would tell you she has a boyfriend. The women you hang around with are either all pure virgins or shameless sluts and i highly doubt it's the former.

Oreo also wrote:

Please, my first initial reaction is that you need to deflate your ego. Someone needs to knock you off your pedestal, Mr. Bigshot. You really put the **** in your ****Y attitude. You're a true ****head and i pity the girl who gets into a relationship with you. If you were a girl, you'd be the self centered *****aholic slut that everyone's been around the block twice with but nobody wants to keep you because you're too much of a pain in the ass.

Here another segment of Oreo's well thought out babble:
I mean, come on, wtf would you say to someone you meet that would result in her answering you like that?
Maybe he asked her for her number and she picked up the vibe that he's interested. You know, Legendary DJ Master Oreo, you're supposed to atleast let her know you're interested, but you'd already know that since you picked through the Bible with a fine toothed comb. Since she picked up the vibe and she actually has a boyfriend and a shred of integrity, she decided to be honest and state the fact that she has a boyfriend. Sure, she might be lying inorder to signal that she's not interested, but what if she's telling the truth? I believe foot in mouth would be the right expression to describe your current predictment. There's this chinese proverb that goes something like this "a half a bottle of water can make far more noise than a full one." You, my friend, is the half bottle of water. I'll leave you to figure out what the water actually alludes to.

Do me a favor, do the rest of the board a favor, go to the DJ discussion forum and see how real men talk and help out each other. Flaunting your machismo won't do anyone any good here. And oh, if you're here to try and boost your ego by flinging your useless advice around and belittle other people for the sake of bolstering your own ego, you've come to the wrong place. You said you came back after a break from the site, i wish you would stay on that break. You said this forum needs to get cleaned up, i agree, but you're not exactly cleaning it, you're jus messing it up further with your lude comments.

Oreo, i see that you're from NC, so you're in the same time zone as I am. Since you're such a full fledged pimp, why are you home on a saturday night posting on this site? I really doubt you're the altruistic type of guy who would sacrifice his saturday night to "help" out other people with their problems. Good job Dr. Laura, or should i call you Hypocrit?

dude.. haha

I dont feel like quoting your long post, but ill still respond.

First you say the chicks Im with are sluts if they dont tell me I they have a boyfriend?

Maybe... or maybe the real reason is that I actually DJ most girls i meet, not just the ones I want to fvck. And maybe, just MAYBE, they felt enough comfort in my presence to NOT have to get defensive, maybe they trusted me as someone who WONT pin them down and fvck them, or perhaps they even respected me as a MAN who doesnt steal girls from other guys.

Whatever the reason, or the combination of those reasons, I was never told "i have a boyfriend, sorry" even when i found out they had one, it wasnt phrased like "stop hitting on me"

You then say something about asking her phone number...

yeah...well, actually its much rather recomended you fvck close her, or if you cant, then date close, or if that doesnt work, then number close.

Number closes arent your number 1 option.

in fact, the only time I would consider number closing as a real option would be something along the lines of

me:"hey, thats great, but i do have to get doing, lets get together for lunch, and we can talk about it later"

her:"okay, is tuesday good for you?"

me: "perfect, but just in case something comes up, write down your number and ill call you up"

or any other word variations of that same exact procedure.

now, i ask you, would any reasonably secure woman, who is NOT insane react with "I have a boyfriend!!!"

of course not, this is a casual get-together, with some guy that she has an attraction for.

In my opinion, her responding with "I have a boyfriend" is a result of values elicited too poorly, not elicited at all, or "letting her know your interested" way too soon, sooner then you have gotten beyond the "stranger" barier.

Yes, when some random guy comes up and shows hes interested, then its "i have a boyfriend" when a guy you know, named oreo, someone whos charming, and who you have talked to for a while shows hes interested in you, then its ok.

:)

When a girl DOESNT tell me about her boyfriend, but as in most cases i found out anyway from just the general way i lead the conversation, i STILL didnt get any objections from having lots of fun with those girls.

And they didnt feel threatened by having their boyfriends position undermined, as opposed to when you respond with "how long you had that problem?" or something like that (which is still pretty funny) she might feel like you are trying to replace her boyfriend, and would be more objective to it.

and then you attack something about my spelling or grammer or some ****, hahaha, i wrote this post when im high, i still am kinda high, and your picking on my typing skills? lol, come on man, and the "mistake" i made wasnt even that bad.

havent you ever heard people saying things like "the super awesome most fabulous...." are they just repeating themselves as well? come one, lighten up.

:)
