I Hate People Who Don't Buy Anything at B&N / Borders

Seriously. Every time I go to either Barnes&Nobles or Borders, it's filled with idiots who sit there for hours and don't buy a damn thing. It's really messed up that just because "everyone else does it" they think it's okay. I always get something from the cafe before sitting down for even an hour.

It's called courtesy. Most people are just so damn cheap. I think it's especially annoying because these idiots don't leave enough room for actual customers. Why don't they just go to the public library? I can't believe people go to these places and read entire books without paying for them. Books are not expensive, yet people treat the bookstore like the public library.

I can understand if you read magazines without paying for them because a lot of it is advertisements and you can get it a lot cheaper if you subscribe. Still, from a business standpoint, it annoys me that some people are such lousy and disrespectful consumers to these stores/cafes.

Yeah, I worked for both B&N and Borders. What is worse than the people who don't buy anything are the people who leave piles of books all over and I have to spend my whole shift picking up after people instead of getting my other projects done.

Why wait so late in the evening? Go at lunch or early afternoon and you could meet up with a woman who'd go out with you that night.

Had you thought about the fact that they were there at that time because they weren't planning on doing anything else that night? At best you may gain their interest to do something at a later time.

Sarging in the afternoon gives them the chance to go home and get ready to go out with you that night. It's a more direct route and usually shows a greater interest level from her. Plus it makes it seem less likely that you are doing any last minute trolling for the evening.

Yeah, that is true, however, if you don't mind waiting a day or two, its one of the best concentrations of single intelligent women that you can find on a friday night. Its always worth a shot if you have nothing else to do on a Friday night.

I study at B+N or Borders alot. There are lots of med students there.

I end up buying coffee and very often buy other books or magazines. I'll bring my own study material but end up getting more.

I always thought it would be a good way to save money to buy reading stuff without buying it, but honestly I end up buying alot more. I'm sure other people do as well.

That being said there are alot of people that just sit and chat instead of reading.

Never picked up at one, but I'm normally there to catch up on reading.

I've had a few instances where the girls at the store showed alot of interest, but I never pursued it.

In school, I always ordered drinks at the cafe when I studied....you're right, it is common courtesy to do so if the provide the space IMO. I had friends go there with me to study and they wouldn't buy anything......cheapskates.

I sometimes browse for books without buying, but that's part of the shopping experience.

I do go there for an hour, twice a week to just read/skim through magazines. I usually get through about 10 magazines an hour....don't read the whole thing, just try to keep updated on the world thorugh quick summaries over a wide range of topics. Its really quite fantastic. I'd add up too fast if I bought these magazines!

I kinda agree with you, there are idiots there but also some really hot chicks

there. When I go there I mostly buy a book or I look at the magazines for

an hour. But I have never sat around just to chat. But let me tell you there

are some fine chicks that are there looking around. maybe later i'll pick some

up lol. But for the people that stay there for hours and dont buy a thing, I

think its weird, go buy something even if its a dollar you owe that place.
