I hate the way I look. I hate being fat. I hate being reminded everyday that I am fat. I hate that it's caused problems between me and my parents. I hate that it's made me to embarrassed to go out this year and see my friends. I really hate my body, and I cannot accept it as it is now.

I upped my work out routine today and so far I've only had healthy things to eat. I will continue to punish my body relentlessly until I am in a lot better shape and can look at myself in the mirror with pride.

It's good that you want to change yourself for the better but don't hate yourself - strive to improve daily but don't waste energy on intense negative emotions like that. Fat loss and muscle gain always comes quickest when you at your least stressed. Lay out your plan, stick to it consistently, and DO NOT GIVE IT ANOTHER THOUGHT (other than eating and training properly).

Don't weigh yourself or look in the mirror or anything for a few weeks, and after a while of dedication, suddenly you'll see rapid changes. If you hate yourself you'll be checking probably every day to see if you've improved, and you will not see changes on a day to day basis. You need to think in terms of months (not weeks).

Start a journal and write down all the food you eat, and all the exercise you do. :)

"Punish my body relentlessly" is probably not the best way to get results. To expand on WBA's very good advice, consistency is the key. If you go too hard out of the gate, you're most likely not going to stick with it.

Set progressive goals and work towards them step-by-step. You'll get there.

Losing fat is ridiculously easy.

It really is.

All those people on tv just have no idea what they are doing.

Thanks guys, I've just been going through a rough time lately. Part of the reason is that before I broke my hand 4 months ago I was stronger than I was ever before and still making gains. I was doing 200 push ups a day, up to 60-70 push ups in a row, but since then I am 40lbs over weight and am lucky to get 25 in a row.

Pushups are good and all but I hope you're doing cardio too like exercise bike riding, real bike riding or jogging for 30 minutes to an hour a day.

Thats what burns fat the best and the fastest.

What is does routine look like?

hmm, last two days for breakfast I had a bowl of rice crispies mixed with a cup of strawberries, and either a glass of milk or OJ.

What is does routine look like?
Lift weights 3-4 times a week, 3 sets of ten of arm curl, kick back, and military press and bench press if I can.

What kind of cardio do you do?

Walk/run up a big hill, do two sets of around 20 push ups(at the top), horse stance 3-5 minutes. Jog back down.

What are your stats (height, weight, bf)

6'1", 226lbs, not sure about my body fat % but I don't think it's good.

well, you haven't actually told us what you do yet. diet is the single most important aspect of losing weight successfully and you've only told us what you eat for breakfast.

tell us what you eat all day, not just one meal.

btw your breakfast could be better. strawberries are great but orange juice and cereal should not feature regularly on a weight loss diet, and the same goes for milk. a better alternative would be some eggs and meat or cheese (or both). feel free to have your strawberries, add a dollop of cream on them if you like. :D

the basics of weight loss are outlined in forty's thread, take those and apply them to your daily diet.

your lifting routine could also be better but first things first: nutrition. help us and we can help you!

wait. in this thread, you hate your body, and you haven't drawn the straight line connection between your terrible eating habits & your extra bodyfat. but in another thread you're telling others that meat is full of transfats, then justifying such nonsense by saying "hey at least i'm not telling them to drink lard"???

which raises two more strictly rhetorical questions:

why would anyone want to drink lard?

and

what's wrong with lard? (pork fat is good for you, and has been unfairly demonized for many years)
