I got 4 wisdom teeth pulled today.

Everyone said I'd be drugged up and only wanting to sleep, well, I'm disappointed. I'm just bored and my jaw hurts.

As I remember I hit on the two nurse assistants. All I remember is that one of the nurses said she wanted the other to set her up with a friend or something, and then something about a party, so I asked when the party was, and said I needed their numbers if I was going to go... I wish I could remember the other **** I said that had them laughing, but the gas I was getting killed my memory of the "experience" (it was good **** though, flying high). I woke up and remember one of the nurses saying something about me hitting on them. When I was leaving the other told me that she put her number in my pocket, and to "keep looking for it." Hahaha, it wasn't there...

I had a GF who worked in a dentist's office. She said that the gas is pretty much like a truth serum when you're the sober one watching patient after patient use it. Guys will pretty much say anything on their minds in that fog.

That nurse that said "keep looking for it" might be something to investigate. She sounds like a fun girl.

Getting my Wisdom teeth done entailed a very unpleasant encounter with a bonesaw & left me looking like I'd come last in a prizefight for a full fortnight after. Never mind the medical complications that nearly killed me.

The only plus at that time was that the pretty skinny girl who sold me painkillers in the local pharmacy was very nice and sympathetic whenever I wandered-in.

Huh? Where are you guys from? Most dentists just give you a few shots and then pull them. In 2010 it is no big deal. Never heard of gas being used in modern dentistry. Dentistry has come a long way. Discomfort is about the only thing you should have from any dental procedure.

They fit neatly in the back of your jaw suppying much needed coldness. I had two impacted teeth pulled and these little things saved my life!

That's for a normal procedure.

If your wisdom teeth are impacted, like mine were, they use a bonesaw to cut into your jaw.

Spitting blood.

I had impacted wisdom teeth. Little blood to speak of. Took some aspirin that day and was good to go. Maybe I am just a really tough guy. I have had a whole lot of dental stuff done. Never felt actual pain. Just slight discomfort. Also had a part of my finger cut off. Had it stitched back on. Not much to that either. I did just about go into shock when I looked down and had to pickup part of my finger. However, my adrenaline was to the point where I felt no pain. Only some discomfort a few days after getting the bugger stitched back on.

Thats nothing. As a kid I pulled out my teeth myself, with a hammer. It didnt hurt that much so I hammered a rusty nail through my hand. Thats the only time I've ever said ouch.

In 2001 at a specialist clinic - They were severely impacted and I had a severe reaction to the sedation. They had to bring me out with the dentist still working on me and the first thing I heard was "hurry-up and finish before he has a heart attack" :nervous:

After my heart recovered (fully thankfully) they then had to send me back to have it finished - No sedation this time, and then the bonesaw came out.

There are no words to describe the sensation of bonesaw hitting bone. It took several of them to hold me down!

That sucks. Luckily my wisdom teeth came in very well and there is no reason to pull them out. I've had two dentists tell me I should be good with them in. Hearing these stories makes me even more grateful.

There are a number of medications that can be given to eliminate almost all the discomfort with dental work in this day and age. The stories you guys hear come from back in the dark ages. Nowadays, people just love to scare and intimidate others with horrific stories of pain at the dentist.

Holding you down? Gets funnier and funnier. If you are allergic to one form of medication there are alternatives. The dentists I go to would never use gas or put anyone to sleep for dental work. There are several forms of novacaine that will dull the work that is being done. There is no chance in hell that you were held down by multiple people at the dentist office. Dentists are terrified of lawsuits.

Sorry for spoiling the stories, but why scare people on the Internet?
