So I met this girl wednesday night and chatted her up real quick before we left this venue. I could tell she was feelin it and I told her she should ask for my number and she came back with a responce telling me to ask for hers. Now my cell phone was dead and i eventually put my number in her phone and left. I eventually got the quickest case of oneitis any human being has ever got. My question is:

When does a girl usually contact you after you give out your number?

You know that feeling you get when you're about to call a girl for the first time? A little nervous. You want to make sure you say the right things. Maybe you think "I'm not feelin it right now. Maybe I'll call tomorrow."

Now imagine yourself without balls. That's a girl.

I hope she calls. It's not your fault your phone died. But it's a wildcard to expect the girl to make the first move. It takes some courage to make that first call....and girls aren't exactly known for their courageousness.

When she is very interested, she contacts EVERY time. With me, it is usually within a day, she will text.

Next time you give out your number, do it without putting too much emphasis on the outcome, and tell her something like, "Hey, here's my number, call me or text me." With the texting option, it is lower key, and she doesn't feel the pressure of having to take the initiative. She will text you, therefore giving you her number, then you can respond. Whatever you do, DO NOT request to get together by text. Wait until you get on the phone, and don't text too much before you get her on the phone.

You should have told her to text your phone so you could save her number.

When girls ask you for your number after you ask for theirs generally isn't a good sign.

No! It wasnt like that. Heres What happened:

[me] I have to go. You should ask for my number.
[her] You can't ask for mine?
[me] I would but sadly my phone's dead
[her] Oh! ok here take it.
[me] clicking*
[me] ok text me tonight?
[her] ok.

This is the kinda what happened because I dont remember the EXACT words because it was a couple days ago. But is there anything i can do?

Ever heard of pen and paper?

Nothing you can do about this. If you told her to text you, she might, as she seemed interested. Don't tell her to text you at a specific time, specially "ok text me tonight?", that sounds very desperate.

Next time your phone dies, use pen and paper, and give her your number, but take hers when she's offering it.

By being realistic. It was one girl you met on one night.

Either way. You'll get over it. You have no choice.

Not really. Just hope that you bump into her again. Or find someone new. There's always a new one.

THEY NEVER CALL. If they do, it's a miracle. NEVER GIVE NUMBER, ALWAYS GET NUMBER.

Create self-fulfilling prophecies. Always assume the positive. Assume she likes you. Assume she wants to talk to you. Assume she wants to go out with you. When you think positive, positive things happen.

Dude, she said she would text that night and didn't. She either forgot or you got rejected. Get over it. I never understand having oneitis over a girl you don't know.

Some people on this board would completely disagree.. I don't. Girls now days aren't dependable, reliable, or respectful.

She may or may not contact you depending on her interest level. How to get your mind off this chick? Get your mind on another one.
