I don't wanna mess this up...

Alright, if anybody saw my last couple of posts....that girl has agreed to go to prom with me.

I've been pretty AFC since she said she could go (which was today....yesterday she said she had to ask her mom lol). Then she asked me if I was buying both of the tickets, AND I SAID YES!!!!! ARRRGH. Why would I do that? oh well, that's done with. Now, she says that her parents want to meet me. She gave me her number today, and said to call her at 5. Obviously, I'm not gonna call at 5, but I guess I'll call tonight....

Anyway, any words of advice? I need to meet these parents as soon as possible, I suppose, but I have a feeling this could go very badly for me...

I think some of the DJ's in the highschool forum could offer better advice.

The one thing that comes to mind though, is you need to be more confident.

My experience has been when you go into something with an attitude like "I don't wanna mess this up..." you usually do.

You're playing not to lose, when you should be playing to win.

Stop overthinking it and relax.

It's good to hear you got a date for prom man.

Parents are hella easy to please. Just shake their hand, give em small-talk, make them think you're a "nice young man" or w/e. I've never had problems impressing parents.

Are you really only nervous about parents?

First off, no big deal about payin for the prom ticket, its a small price to pay for not going stag. Secondly and more importantly, don't worry about the parents. Just be yourself, they'll just have a few questions for you. Unless you come across as a total jerk driving a muscle car, they're not going to stop her from going on the date at the 11th hour.

If you are the total jerk driving the muscle car, then you wouldn't be hear asking.

So just do it and don't worry. Have fun man, you only have one prom night and don't worry about having to seal the deal, just have fun.
