I don't (like to) add too much weight too fast..

I have found the exact opposite experience.

The only thing that has ever made me better at lifting heavier weights... was lifting heavier weights.

IMO, no one is getting to a 225lb bench by pressing 135 a whole bunch of times, even if like really really fast. I know there are weight progressions, I just don't find this to be anywhere as successful as say Sheiko, 531, Conjugate, etc.
*not a powerlifter, never was or wanted to be one.
Depends what your limiting factor is...if it's actual strength or if it's the muscle simply not having enough endurance to push more reps.

I typically switched modalities every 6-8 weeks so I wasn't training any single method for a long period of time.

I will finish my current program and next definitely try some of the things you guys have suggested to me!

I am on a beginners program anyway..
