I didn't realize that I actually use CnF UNTIL TONIGHT: critque please

So tonight I was at a friends college grad party. I went to go use the bathroom which was located in the hallway and saw this girl I took out a long time ago waiting for someone to get out. There was a body length mirror at the end of the hallway and she was checking herself out. I asked her:

ME: so, you like checking yourself out?
HER: well, sometimes. Why, do YOU like checking yourself out?
ME: Naw...I don't really like what I see.
HER: (turns away from the mirror and looks at me) HUH?! no way! shuttup!
ME: Do you like what you see?
HER: Omg, HELL yea! I love it!
ME: (and without thinking)Good. Cuz you're looking right at ME.
HER: hahaha! omg!(punches me on the arm and starts kinoing a bit.

I later recalled this incident and realized that it was CnF.

There was also another time at work with my old target. I was trying to get her number and I did it in a way that I thought was kinda "*****y" on my part. I told her that I was gonna text her a pic that would most likely amuse her and she had doubts about it saying that it might be a nasty pic. I took a risky move and told her:

ME: Ok, if its a nasty pic and you don't like it CALL A CONSEQUENCE. ILL DO IT.
HER: Fine, if its gross you have to go on a date with our manager(he's gay).
ME: I dunno...you might get jealous .
HER: (looks at me starts smiling and her cheeks start blushing. So she covered her face giggling.)

I got her number in the end. hahaha

Yea, I wasnt gonna explain EVERY single detail of the scenario but since you brought this up: I looked in the mirror, turned to my left and right side, fixed my collar, and with a smirk on my face said "Naw...I don't really like what I see."

I wasn't asking questions. Of course he can say whatever he pleases, he just won't manage to make much progress with his current approach. Tell me how you can deliver a self depreciating line in a ****y way? I'm telling you from experience, while his body language might have been smooth, it's that sort of self-depreciating humor that should be COMPLETELY eliminated from your exchanges. There is no ****Y in that delivery at all. He's underselling himself for a cheap laugh.

No he isn't. The self depreciating humour was only one short line, and the body language contradicted it. Her reaction was one of shock, it sort of threw her. Then he delivered the witty part, and got a good reaction.

What, exactly, was the witty part?

The whole premise of his "joke" consisted of him communicating that he was unsatisfied with his appearance with incongruent body language (way to throw her off ace), and then asking for validation. Finally, the punchline: "Good. Cuz you're looking right at ME." :crackup:

This is a far cry from CNF. It's just a horrible joke rescued by conflicting body language. Try something like this instead next time:

You: So, you like checking yourself out?
HER: Well, sometimes. Why, do YOU like checking yourself out?
You: HELL yes. Damn I look good. (brush your hair and strike a subtle model pose while obviously checking yourself out, brushing dirt off your shoulder, buffing fingernails on shirt, etc.)
HER: hahaha! omg! (punches you on the arm and starts kinoing a bit.)
You: Watch it lady, there is a cover charge to touch this merchandise. (wink / kino)

Or this:

You: Hey! Stop checking me out.
Her: hahaha! omg! I was not!
You: I know it's hard to control yourself... I'm incredibly irresistible... but at least wait until we get somewhere a little more private... jeez..

In fact, it added to the punchline because she certainly would not expect someone who is apparently unhappy about their appearance to then accuse of her thinking he looks damn good.

Telos, I see what youre getting at but did you see what kind of examples you gave me? Those were just straight up ****Y. There was no funny in it, well: I dunno why the hell she would be laughing at that point unless she's really thinking, "oh geez...this guy swears he's sooo fine". But hey, if it works for you then all power to you...but I personally think it would make you seem like a narcissist/self-centered.
