I did it! got the # BUT..

Today, i finally asked this girl for her #..

I had a class with her during the summer.. During the time we always made a lot of contact but never talked to one another, i often noticed her staring at me, and I did the same.. Summer went by and nothing happened i didnt make a move..

When we got back to school i saw her couple of times walking on the street we smiled alot and often said hi..

Today, while going home i noticed her walking with a baby, i was like WTF, forget it she noticed me too, i just went my way, then i turned around and went back up to her said "hi" smiled etc, she answered and was friendly...

Me: "What did you get in that summer class we took"
Her:" laughs What class, i dont even remember what we took"
Me: Psychology
Her: oh yea, i got a A-, what did u get?!
Me: C- ( although i got a C) I was thinking about other stuff lol
Her: Oh damn
Me: Yea probably because i was late all the time, thats your daugther?
Her: Oh no laughs, thats my friends baby i just took her for walk, she is waiting for me in library (saw the baby pulling her hand to walk faster to library, stupid baby lol)
Me:Oh ok, So Can i get your #?
Her: Yea sure ( gives me her #), Whats your name? (How am i gonna ask her for her number when i dont know her name, what a moron i am, but i could of assumed she already knew because we had a class)
Me: Luke, whats yours?
Her: Jenny, do you have a pen and a paper, or something to write it on ( we both didnt have books or anything like that, so i pulled out my phone, and wrote it down) So you got it
Me: ( I repeated the #)
Her: Let me see ( She looks at my phone, and double checks the #)
Me: Allright, so ill call you
Her: Ok, bye)
Me: Bye

Thinking about it i made couple of mistakes which i guess not knowing her name first, then probably asking her number too quickly, but hey i barely see her and she was in rush with baby and i was going home,im not gonna keep the convo running when i see the baby pulling her damn hand..

Now what am i supposed to do, would it be appropirate to call her and ask her out to chill, movies or something (even though i dont know VERY well, and talked to her only once). When should i call?

First find out for sure thats not really her baby - single mothers are the craftiest of women - they've been dealt a hard hand so they have to be

2nd if you were really looking at each other all last semester and did nothing and you still get the number then you are lucky. She probably fancies you. Give her a ring and ask her out. Again, you have nothing to lose - asking for the date shows bollocks.

No thats not her baby im 100% sure.. Yea ill ask her out but i dont think im gonna do it right away, i will call her and set up something so we can chill at school one of the days get to know each other more, and then ill ask her to the movies or something

As much as it hurts me to help a YANKEES FAN : ) I'll give you my input. Congrats on getting the number; really. That was solid. I would have probably, like you mentioned yourself; have built some more rapport with her before you got the number. Not so that it *looks* better per se, but so that she felt some kind of connection with you and will actually go out with you when you call. You're in good shape though.

Call her when you feel like it. I don't buy into these silly rules; but these guys get off on their little " don't call for 3, 7, 100 days-rules" cult so I let them play. When you call just say to her "Well lets hang out sometime, which day is good for YOU this week." When she tells you, decide if that's good for you and make it a date. If you flakes on you for ANY reason, then try it once more. If she flakes again, discard of her.

PS: Congrats on buying, whoops, I mean winning another ALC this season.
