In big cities like Buenos Aires you should go out around dark. Try nicer areas such as around Recoleta. Do you see all the hot chics digging in trash? Yes, hot as hell women come to this area to dig through TRASH. You can pick these women up. They do see you as a rich American/European, even if that's not close to being true.
However, guess what? If you cannot speak spanish, you have almost NO CHANCE!
The only women you can pickup are hookers or the ones off dating sites that speak english. Occasionally,you can find a gold digger on the side streets near the Galerías Pacífico just before the streets start clearing out @ night. She will probably screw you if you buy dinner. She may or may not expect a small tip in the morning. Sometimes they also work as female touts for the rip-off stripper bars. There is also a number of swinger events in that area. Some will admit single men. The smaller towns outside Buenos Aires alos have similar events. They are not well advertised and some will be couples only.
Now, let's say you head to Costa Rica. You think, hmmmmm, San Jose, I bet that'd be a good place. Guess what? They see tons of Euro/Americano tourists. You're not really a big deal, most of the people available to you (foriegners and desperate locals that come there to meet rich men) still don't speak English. The ones who do speak English will almost certainly only be after your wallet if they are into you. They will likely be working hooker bars or strip bars which are often *****houses as well. They don't need to do much to get your money, because another sucker tourist waits around each corner just waiting to kiss thier butts and hand out money like an ATM.
Venturing out onto your own in San Jose is an experience to not be forgotten. Hookers, robbers, and transvestites abound! Better check the package on any "women" you talk to on the street! You can pickup women here. You can pickup lots of women. They are not going to come to you. They are not hanging out in the gringo gulch. You have to go to them. You have to know Spanish. You have to knwo where they are. You have to have done a lot of research. You probably should have a companion with you. You will be risking your life. It is worth it if you do it right.
Botton line is that you need a lot of time to find the "sweet spots". You better get researching right away on that Spanish! You also need to talk to expats who really know the lay of the land in specific areas. Be leary of anyone who claims to be an expert on every ****ing city in two or more continents. I am not an expert on every city in the world. I do know that you either need some very specific info or leave the heavily touristed areas, preferably both! You may also want to hit some dating sites to find one or two english speaking ladies who can bring you into a social circle.
