I don't see that as an arguement. He said what he had to say, and left. I would call and say something like, "You should fix me dinner tonight to make it up to me." I'm glad you put her in her place.

No way!!!! Do not tell her a thing! Let her pull a bunny out of a hat... ya dig???

If you give her ideas it will spoil it. See how she can overcome being disrespectful on her own. Did you help her decide how to be disrespectful? Then you should not decide NOT to help her making it up.
