The people who did get killed, why didnt they just get the fuk out of there when the warning came out OR is it not as simple as that.
That's what I thought at first. But then I read more into it. A lot of people are way too poor, and they can't afford to clear out. That's why there were so many people taken into the Superdome. They couldn't fit everyone, and lot's of others weren't even close enough to go there...and that's why so many died.
It's just really terrible. I initially posted about the gasoline prices, which are going crazy btw. My dad told me he was at the pump yesterday. When he was the 4th one in line, the price was 2.99, and when it got to his turn, it went up to 3.10 per gallon! Wow.
But to complain about that is just plain stupid, because the people who actually got hit are going through so much more sh*t. I can't imagine. This reminds me of 9/11, because I seriously have been glued to the TV for the past few days. It's terrible that it's not getting as much coverage, because in my opinion, this is just as bad, if not many times worse. If it had happened to a metropolitan area in the north, I am positive it would get more coverage. Well, I live in the south east (not in the vicinity of the hurricane though), so I feel that way. They may have to evacuate New Orleans...never been done in US history since only one time in the 1800s?! My god. It's just horrible. I wish the best to everyone who's out there.
