Wow, nice to see the large amount of quality posts, lots of very helpful information - thank you all for contributing.

I'd much rather wing it from moment to moment than try to realize an agenda, but a lot of people seem to need a specific direction rather than just embracing spontaneity

See, this is my exact problem - I really WANT to be the kind of person who can embrace spontaneity and really just find tangent after tangent to exploit, but I don't think someone can just jump head first into that. I think when first starting out , one has to work himself up from the bottom, possibly analyze some other people's wit, etc. Or maybe not, I am not an expert or anything.

Mostly it involves getting people to use their minds to reach a conclusion that I haven't actually verbalized

Exaaacctlly the case for me, thank you for articulating this. Having understood this really cleared up a lot about myself and the flaws of using the type of humor I enjoy in certain situations. Quite a few jokes I find funny, things that I think other people will understand, end up resulting with confusion (Usually it's sarcasm interpreted as sincerity). And I'm not by any means trying to be egotistical, but maybe I give people an unreasonable amount of credit. I think I have been improving at this lately, but now I really understand why I was getting confused looks before. I need to do a bit more articulation.

I totally agree with you about spontaneity, and I do feel like I am and can be very spontaneously comedic, however like you, a lot of the jokes I prefer are more intelligent. And like you, I too am lost with American humor. I kind of interpret that as a weakness, even though I don't enjoy it, I feel like if I understood it and was able to replicate it well, my DJ skills would rise. It helps out a lot when you come across those dumb blondes I would imagine.

It's not about the subject, its about the delivery.

Very very true... never really put too much thought into this, but now that I realize it, delivery really is one of the most important aspects to a joke if not more important than the joke itself.

Sometime it is hard not to laugh at your own jokes once and awhile if they are really funny - I am occasionally guilty of this.

Really what has seemed to work well for me over the years is the type of humor that Deadpan uses. Very subtle mocking of the chick, like the tongue thing he talked about, or making fun of her in ridiculous ways. Usually what happens, is we start throwing mock insults back and forth in a very light and joking way, or we will end up getting in little mock fights sometimes (jokingly of course, which leads to some nice kino opportunities ). The only problem is if you run in to a really sensitive chick, or if you suck at delivery, she can actually think you are being serious and that will fck you up proper.

Part of a recent convo with a chick (hb7-8) I'm seeing atm that demonstrates this:

M: So what was your experience in school like?
H: Yeah I really wasn't too popular in High School...
M: Yeah I know, you're such a loser! Everybody can plainly see that. (you better make sure your delivery is right)
H: HEY!
M: Nah, I'm just kidding. But, I don't quite understand why you weren’t that popular? You definitely look like you would have guys lined up through the halls for you.
H: I wish. I got teased a lot for being stupid. (Unfortunately she is quite stupid)
M: Well why don't you just bust out and kick their asses? Don't take any **** like that!
H: Hahaha oh yeah... (flexes muscles)... I am all that is woman.
M: OooOoo (I'm sitting there gawking) Impressive.
(a quick second later)
M: ... but you totally know that I could kick your ass
H: No way!
M: Yeah way! Bring it foo!

... mock fighting ensues, and I take advantage of kino opportunity.

I really want to expand on my humor a lot more though. I am afraid that after extended lengths of time with certain chicks they will pick up on repetition, and kind of learn "my style" which will make me look predictable and therefore un-enjoyable. I want to keep it as dynamic as possible, which I do, but I still am looking for as many ways to improve as possible.

Alot of people dont even realise that their funny, but hink abut it...you probably do make certain people laugh, you just gotta transfer this to situations where fit chicks are around to hear it, then make them the butt of your less harmful jokes.
