Dear All,
I seek advice, about 25 years ago and continuing for five years I had unprotected Oral Sex with a Lady who subsequently had HPV scraped off the walls of her Vagina....It seems very little advice is available, concerning any damage I may have sustained...Do any of the Brotherhood have experience in this matter?has anyone any thoughts on my future directions...Thanks...

First of let me say I have no idea what HPV is capable of doing to the mouth/throat.

But...

I wouldn't worry too much about it.
HPV is so common it usually isn't even tested for for girls under 30.
Your probably more likely to have sex with a girl with HPV than not.

This being the case, I've never heard of any warnings or concerns about oral sex with girls with HPV.

Dear_Teflon Mcgee,
Just love your Nom De Net....Thankyou for your concern, but there is really disturbing news about HPV and Oral Sex being implicated in Throat Cancer,if no one gives a response I think as a matter of Health concern I should do something to make others aware...Teflon,for your own good don't do a muff job on a Lady who has HPV....

The study was in the May 10 issue of The New England Journal of Medicine; I havent read it but a quick glance on Google tells me the study was done on 86 men & 14 women with cancer, as compared to 200 without. Thats a small sample size, especially when questioning people about their sexual history.

All I'd say is that throat cancer is rare, when you compare the frequency of cases per annum against the frequency of people having oral sex, you'd have to be damn unlucky to contract throat cancer (by HPV infection) that way.

Go see a doctor. Seeking medical advice on the web is not recommended.
Good advice. If your worried, go see your GP.

did you verify with the lady that the HPV she had was actually cancerous? out of I think around 40 genetial strains, only a few of them are high-risk. Her pap smear and coloscopy should have been able to verify

and doctors have no way of detecting HPV in guys, only the tumor. So there technically isn't anything you can do except seek medical reassurance

the good thing is HPV is one of those infections that statistically clears up on its on. and you might want to verify with a doctor, but I think there's a 2 year max ceiling on HPV remaining in your body, including the dormancy stage, meaning if nothing's happened 2 years from now, your immune system has probably already eliminated the virus from your body

but like the other guys said, ask a doctor

I think you have absolutely nothing to worry about.

I'd be more worried about getting throat cancer if I was an idiot like one of my younger cousins who thinks its cool to use chewing tobacco.
