The act itself has no relevance. The intent behind the act is paramount. If one carries a scarcity mentality and effects a diatribe to a woman, that's beta. Contrariwise, one with an "abundance" mentality can pretty much get away with any act--including a diatribe--without surrendering the frame. When there is a bonafide mental exit due to tangible (real) or intangible (realized) options, beta falls flat on its face.

I was reading over some tips on this site about $hit tests and remembered a time when a gf was giving me a ride to work when my car was in the shop. we were waiting to pick up her car pool buddy and she was not in a good mood stressing about work. I was tapping my fingers on her seat. she said in a *****y tone, you can tap on your own seat if you want and glared at me. this one really stumped me.too I'm a little head strong and not going to say what I did.
but how would you have handled this?

Just curious. I thought it would make for good conversation here. we get the big $hit tests and know how to handle them, just gotta be strong. but these little ones aren't talked about much. sometimes women are just moody as hell and they mess up once they get comfortable with you and you gotta handle it right.

A tad difficult, but I would have been light and funny about it and said something to ease her tension. Now you might say that "anything" out of your mouth would have added to the stress, but silence is awkward, power-shifting may occur, and it also depends on the choice of words and how you directed her mind away from the stress. I usually make situations like this lighter with redirection.

The OP illustrates the onset of sh*tty/disrespectful behavior. Thereafter, should OP fail to OVERTLY inform his plate of HIS rules of engagement, this type of behavior will merge into the existing "rules" of play by default, only to aggrandize in severity, eventually compromising the frame.

Motive: The plate unconsciously tests her subject to observe of what type of substance OP is made.

Prescription: Apprise plate that outbursts are unwarranted and not acceptable. Should another outburst occur, OP must walk away.

DJs don't accept sh*tty behavior; they live by their rules of engagement, not others'. As rules are individualized, and thus vary, overt disclosure of boundaries should be implemented in all the disparate types of relations: friendship, plate, exclusivity, or marriage.
