well my social circle is slowly expanding since i moved to where i am now.

So i have a few invitations for NYE but none that i really feel comfortable going to.

A girl i was talking to that i didn't realize had a BF invited me to a club party. I also met a few of her friends some of which are real chill. I have only met them all once besides the main girl which i met a few times. The reason why i don't want to go to this is because i don't know anybody. On top of that I would be going alone and i don't really dance that much nor am i great at socializing. I pretty much keep to myself and will talk to whoever i want to talk to.

Got invited to my co-workers dinner thing with a bunch of his girls friends. This sounds pretty cool since i don't like big crowds but they've switched places a few times and nothing is set in stone.

Got invited to my partners NYE party as his house. His crowd of people are not the people i want to spend NYE with. They're all ugly, and being real, i want to atleast have some eye candy to enjoy the night if i am going out.

All my others friends have girls and are doing their thing. Even some of the single bachelors just picked up random chicks a month or so before just so they could spend it with someone during the holidays. I'm not gonna third wheel any of their nights, especially on NYE.

I could also spend it working on my business projects and being productive.

People talk about meeting girls, man i just want a good homeboy that's down to chill.

Im in a situation similar to yours,if I were you I would stick to option nr2 and dine with the co-workers,you know them and if you find yourself unable to socialise you could talk about common things at work.

However if you dont feel it,just focus on your work and be productive, just don't pay too much attention on those "social must" like the holydays,we already have enough stress.
It seems like having fun on certain days is becoming a second job or a standard to evaluate winners and losers, dont believe those bvll****.

I am going to spend new year's eve not getting a dui. The state of Illinois is broke and planning to raise money by putting dui checkpoints everywhere.

AAAgent, what do YOU think is the right thing to do?

where do you think you are the most welcome?

where are you going to feel comfortable and enjoy NYE?

just answer those questions, make your own decisions rather than asking others from here because we will not have the full idea of what is going on in your life:)

hope this helps, man! Have a good time...

If you go out with co-workers, don't be that guy who talks about work stuff.
I think I read a thread in here about company Christmas parties...maybe that was some other article.

I've had some good ones, but New Years Eve is for amateurs ... unless you go to St. Barth's.

i lost the benefit of driving around since i moved around the city. Can't really drive much.

I decided i'll probably chill back. I'm trying to save money for a bike early next year. I'm also going out saturday and the saturday after that which is alot for me. I have a tendency to drop sh1tload of money when i go out.

Going off to knock up some Mexicans are you? Have fun with the drama and alimony :p

OP, the dinner things sounds awesome. You have something in common, you know someone there and there are girls. Sounds like an excellent opportunity to get to know a couple of broads:)
