So lately (probably past 6 months or so) I've just kind of been in a "funk," for lack of a better term. I'm normally (well not recently though) a pretty sociable, confident guy, but for some reason I can't seem to loosen up now, which is completely out of character for me and definately not helping with the ladies. I've tried to keep the drinking and "herbal" substances to a minimum in the past couple days, and it seems to help a little bit, but I still feel like I've "lost my mojo." Anybody know what I mean? And have any ideas on how to get it back? I'll try to clarify if I'm being too vague here...

Have you been under a lot of stress recently?

Do you drink coffee pop or anything else with a lot of caffeine in it?

I used to drink a crapload of soda, but in the past month or so I've cut way back and mostly drink water...I don't think I've been under that much stress recently, but maybe I'm just in denial

Sounds like you need a real change in your life (not to be confused with your lifestyle). Ever consider incorporating something new into your life?

I used to be a big "herbal substance" kind of guy back in the day, and I wound up smoking myself into depression. I went cold turkey and was right as rain in about 6 months. Maybe that would work for you? Total abstinece for a while?

Believe me, I'm not anti-weed at all, just a tip.

^ I've been thinking that is most of the problem, I'm probably going to abstain for at least a month and see how it works out.

I also think bringing something new into my life would help immensely, but I have limited time/money since I'm in college fulltime and working about 20 hours a week. Any ideas on what to try? I feel like I haven't really "lived" since high school, and that's a bit depressing.

Good deal, man. Cutting back on the ganj will free up a load of time that you can devote elsewhere, which should help you get back that feeling of living. I didn't do that til after college, so you're ahead of the game.

Write down some goals. I know it sounds funny, but writing them out will keep you motivated. Start off doing a weekly goal sheet.

Plus, being in college is great - there are so many things to do to get yourself motivated. Check out a club or sport or something, tons around.

And then on Friday night, treat yourself to a bong hit. :)

Get into the gym and start pushing some weight!

Then, start looking at some info from Zan Perion, David Deida, and Carlos Xuma.

See if you can hang out with some of your buddies outside of a club. Socialize in a different environment.

See if you can go to a beach. Get by the water and and grab some sunshine and fresh air.

put your....

head down, grip the ball tight, and run through the line into the end zone. when things are rough and your bummed and low-energy you just gotta fight through it. realize that how your feelin now is temporary. keep gaming sets with no worry or desired outcome.

I have that problem off and on too, if I am in a rut I smoke more which can just add to it. Cutting back works sometimes unless you are really bored and decide you want to get ripped all day. lol. Once I start class next week though it's back to just weekends for me.

Do something that scares you, take a risk, ride a mountain bike down a set of stairs, call some old friends on the phone, volunteer at an old folks home or an animal shelter, box your best friend for 4 rounds in the backyard, sit down and talk to a homeless person for an hour. just things to try that will broaden your sphere.

The more you smoke, the worse you feel after you quit. It will feel worse before it feels better. That's the trap. Quitting makes you feel bad, then starting again feels good. After a while, you start to think that it is the only way to stay feeling good, but all you have to do is stick out the withdrawal.

Lol at how everyone just focused in on the weed. It's a crap habit and I'm glad I stopped. I did it easy too, Biblebelt, even though I was pretty hard smoker; stopped cold and never looked back and never felt "bad" at all.

Moose, you need to be clearer. What has actually changed? What was it about life that used to be so fun and exciting that's now no longer there? When guys have trouble pinpointing that precise "something", in my experience, it's usually after they've been single again for a while; they just don't wanna admit that the "hole" in their lives is cos the gf's no longer there, because then they'd have to admit she "meant" (or still does) more to them than they thought.
