I know this might be easy for most of you, but for me I'm still learning how to say "no" to a girl. My current gf is a little on the clingy side, wanting to hang out everyday. I don't want to hang out everyday. Not even every other day. I feel like I need a reason to tell her that I don't want to hang out, even if I don't have anything going (sometimes I like to just chill at Borders with a book/coffee...my personal alone getaway time). Thank you in advance.

The point is, to just go ahead and don't see your girl every time she wants to see you. You have a life, live it. With or with out her, its yours.

Oh I have no problem being by myself/spending time alone (in fact, sometimes I prefer it). I keep busy too, but sometimes after work I just get texts saying "are we going to hang out today?". I mean sure I could just simply say "no", but that's kind of being a bit of a jerk about it.
For the record too, I'd rather see her for a few hours one day, then not see her for a couple days, then repeat. I love the "mystery" concept, I'm just trying to figure out how to better execute it.

you: "Hey babe, i was plannin on catching up on some much needed reading after work, we'll hang out tomorow. cool?"
be straight up dude..she'll learn to expect honesty and opennes from you which is good for your long run.
The worst thats going to happen is
She: Oh
But i miss you..**girly emo crap**
You: cmon now I KNOW!!ur not one of those girls?..lol!besides..absense makes the heart grow fonder..
she'll know if she says anything back to that, shes jeaopardizing her raport with you...usually the reply to that will be either
She: FINE! dont see me today!
or
She: im not one of those girls, but i thought id see you today.its k have fun at the bookshop.

You: Hey babe, id love to hang, but i planned on doing some reading at borders..
she: Ok ill meet you there - OR - oh
at which point you decide if you decide which way you want to go.
You: Ok come along if you want.
At the bookstore, dont give her alot of attention. tell her to grab a book and sit next to you or away from you and relax. borders is a quite place anyway and you shouldnt be talking.
This way, you do it once, and she'll know what your "ME" time involves and next time when you say Borders, she'll know she wont get alot of attn there and wont want to bother you. simple.

This is good advice. If she is as into you as you make it sound, there is no reason you shouldn't be in complete control of this relationship. You aren't at risk of losing this girl; she sounds like she needs you a lot more than you need her.02hero said:
