I'm not recommending anyone play side 2 of Led Zeppelin IV or anything, but one thing I've learned about high maintenance women is that they tend to hate whatever music I like.

How do you handle women and music on dates these days? Satellite radio or IPod in the car? Pandora and let her decide?

Don't underestimate the importance of good music during a long ride.

Everyone has their own personal tastes in music, but in general here are a few songs that I find almost 90% of all chicks will like, and it shows you have a "soft" and "vulnerable" side so they don't get intimidated by your alpha male-ism.

Deutschland Sucht Den Superstar - Cry On My Shoulder
Sanctus Real - Lead Me
Sarah McLachlan - I Will Remember You
Puff Daddy & Faith Evans - I'll Be Missing You
Aerosmith - I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing

Just tell them you like these songs and you listen to them every once in a while. You don't wanna come off as an AFC that listens to these songs everyday.

I have also thought about this topic from time to time. And I have come to believe that it is okay to play your own preferred music. Music doesn't have to be played all the time, so that you can talk with your dates while keeping the radio off.. But for those times to relax on longer rides, I would play my own music. I like to listen to my iPod, and wish I could use a satellite radio. If you have an AUX input where you can plug a wire into any MP3 or cellphone, you can always play your date's music and at the same time, see what music she likes to listen to.
