How to handle disrespect?

[Lesson]

Basically to make a long story short... I was talking and joking around with my friend who sits next to me in class about some girl who was sitting across the room with her fingers in her mouth. We were joking, I said some smart ass comment to myself and my friend and theres this girl who sits in front of me(who is hot but is not popular at all, she hangs out with a bunch of nerd ass kids so I guess she feels like she needs to defend the girl who had her fingers in her mouth)... anyway she turns around and says some **** like "Can you SHUTUP, ow my god" I responded by saying "Are you kidding?" then I turned to my friend and was like "Who is this girl I don't even know her name"(i do know her name but don't know her well enough for her to flip out on me) then I ended it with my standard "NEXT" comment to make sure she knew that she was being an annoying ass ***** and that I didn't give a **** what she thunk. She turned back around as was like "Hi Im XXX, nice to meet you." in a sarcastic, rude sort of way... I say nothing more but I still feel like she got the best of me and pisses me off... she turned around all happy and I feel like she thinks she "got me". Anyway, I feel like treating her like **** tomorrow and saying don't disrespect me again, but I dont know, what would you guys do? What would you have said?

BTW, I've honestly never seen this girl get mad the whole year, Im not trying to hookup with her or anything, but seriosuly, she seemed pissed off at me, and this is the second ****ing time she called me out on **** that didn't even involve her, last time I was joking with this girl next to me and I took her homework to "see" and the girl next to me was laughing and saying "giveeee it bacccckkkk" in that joking, whiny girly voice, and the girl in front of me turned around and said "Lesson, can you please give XXX her paper back?", What are you her ****ing spokesperson? Jesus, she was eavesdropping on both my conversation and then says **** to me like she has supreme authority over me, pisses me off.

What should I do if this happens again and how would you of handled it?

Good point, honestly. I was being a prick I guess, but yea, I just didn't like how she was being nosey and then she flipped on me for something that didn't involve her, twice in about a 4 day period. Thanks for the humbling response though, seriously.

say in a serious way, but lettin' her know u r not talkin' seriously:

"who the hell gave you the license to talk to me?"

she sounds like an annoyin' b1tch, so she's going to say somethin like "quit tryin' to be funny, u r just stupid" or somethin on the line... interrupt her immediately, by sayin':

"u r meant to shut up, woman!" in a really deep and loud voice

if she tries to reply once again, u say really loud:

"shut up, woman!"

if she tries to reply another time (sh1t!), say:

"i don't fùckin' care what you think, SHUT UP!"

and don't stop until she stops herself

This issue is done. Wether you were joking or not, you were bashing another person. The girl asking you to shut up was within bounds. If there's any person that should be getting sh!t, it's you. Now man up and quit acting like a child.

Oh, don't get it twisted, I was not bashing nobody... joking yes, bashing no. Basically the girl was biting her nails or something and I said something like I wonder how those fingers taste to my friend... Maybe what I wrote made it seem like I was making fun of the girl, no I wasn't, I was joking around with a friend who initiated the topic of conversation. Sorry, but I feel the need to clarify because I definately was not being insensitive to the point where someone could be like "Wow he's a jerk" or turn around and tell me to shut my mouth.

This is besides the point, I already responded to the "respect" thing, I agree, I should be a more respectful person, great. But don't come to me and act like I'm the bad guy, because if any of you knew me you'd know the type of person I am, and I gurantee we've all been in a similar situation, but thats besides the point, now lets talk about when someone disrrespects you and tells you to shutup out of nowhere... because thats why I am here, not to be lectured on respect. I'm secure enough with myself to admit I was partly-insensitive, but I still don't think what I said warrants the response I got, and I want to make sure I handle it "correctly" next time.

well when you took the girls book and she tells you to shut up, thats just fcuked up because its only messing around, funnily enough the 2 possible reasons are total oppsoites, either she dislikes you and is there for saying this because she is a b!tch with her head stuck up her arse, or she may even like you and be trying to get your attention in a weird way, but i would go with the first one, she is a total b!tch that wnats to ruin your fun. Or have you got any signs from her?
