How to get this girl to buy her own food

sounds like she's trash.

my prom date (now gf) wouldn't even let me buy her prom ticket even though I offered and it was no problem money wise.

when it comes down to it this girl is simply disrespectful, and you say a lot about yourself by the people you surround yourself with, women especially.

I do have experience dating a lot of girls so I'm no newbie to this. I've just never been played by a girl before (if that is what's going on).

It absolutely is what's going on, my friend.

And I'm going to turn the tables on you at this point, and tell you she isn't the problem, you are.

Think about- it would be one thing to come on here and ask a polite way to bring it up, but you've already addressed it, and with absolutely nothing to back it up, she calls you out on it. She insults you, the guy who has been her meal ticket. That's seriously disrespectful for her to do, I agree, but it's also extremely beta for you to sit there and take it, prom or not (which, by the way, isn't a lot invested-having children with a woman, being in an LTR, or possible evening living together? That's a lot invested. In a year, you won't even remember who she is).

At this point, you are disrespectful to yourself. I can't honestly blame her alone for something you continue to let her do.
