More calories will work. The problem is you are resisting eating the amount of food required to gain mass. Clearly, you need to eat more.I don't think just more calories will work. My baseline is prob around 2000-2200 and to gain weight the app put the goal at 2500 kcals. Now I'd say I eat regularly around 2800-3000 kcals per day, so from an calories standpoint I should gain weight all the time. But I don't. Eating more when your body doesn't actually builds it into the body is not effective.
More carbs are def. a point to work on. The question is only from where?
I suggest you make a few changes:
-Eat oatmeal for breakfast. Add some peanut butter, honey or agave nectar, then whatever else you’d like to make it taste good
-For lunch and dinner, eat a protein source and shove as much white rice and beans as you can into your mouth. White rice is a potent weight gainer because it is easy to digest and you can pack it in. Don’t worry about all the health shvt, you can switch to brown or black rice after you reach your target weight.
For vegetables, find the easiest to digest that your body can tolerate.
-Go to the store and buy gallon jugs of whole milk. If you’re lactose intolerant get the lactose free stuff. You are going to ditch all other beverages and drink this between meals. Drink your water during workouts. For everything else, drink milk.
Pack it in my friend. Milk, oats, rice. Milk, oats, rice. Milk, oats, rice.
