Okay, I am bored, so i am going to write something that alot of high school kids want to know. Ill try to make it as simple as possible.

1. dont get in a fight. If it needs to happen avoid it. If you cant avoid it, it should be in self defense.

If people like this, I will go into chokes, locks etc. locking someone in gaurd etc.

.........

I am going to explain: Standup, Ground, General things to remember...

-Standup-

Be relaxed, eyes up, chin down, hands gaurding face. relaxed. relaxed. calm.

Personally if I am bigger then someone I will let them throw a punch and be off balance and just take em down to the ground.

If you think your better off standing up with someone, I like to play defense, let them throw a punch, (its okay to take some shots). When they are off-balance throw a big punch. Throw a combination, go all out the second u see their arm go forward. Dont let your head pop up, he will catch your chin, and you will go down.

Staying stood up with someone who isnt skilled and is just going nuts, looks intimidating, but they are just hoping to catch a shot on your face. This is perfect. Let them get tired, they will. I gaurentee you. When they do, you have to come in strong. take em to the ground...

-Ground-

Taking someone down isnt hard. Especially while they are off-balance.

Shooting a double on someone is simple. Step forward with your front leg, let the leg you stepped forward bend down and slide your back leg up as your front leg's knee is on the ground. As you are doing this get your head on the outside of the leg that your grabbing. Your arms should be wrapped around the back of their knee caps. And on the opposite side you should be lfiting up, and basically you want to pick the guy up off of the ground and fall on top of him towards your front legs side. (Sorry if this is confusing but its hard to explain in text.)

Okay, so you have the guy down now. What do you do?

At this point you are either on top of his legs or have side control, or not even on top of him at all.

If you are on his knees (laying down sorta). Quickly put your knees right on his inner knee cap, and slide up to get some control. (There are pressure points there) You want to make it so he cannot get up. (if he wants to roll on his stomach, let him, THATS A VERY BIG MISTAKE).

So if you are on his knees you want to make sure he cannot punch you, quickly get to full mount.

Full mount is when you are passed his gaurd. Basically meaning you are passed his legs and are sitting on top of his chest, and he has no control of you. He is going to try to punch you whatever, mostly he is leaving himself defenseless when he does this. So feel free to punch away. You want to try to push your legs close in together, but not so much that your off balance, you just want to squeeze him tight.

I am not going to get into Armbars or anything. (maybe later).

What if you are in gaurd?
Guard is basically when he has his legs wrapped around your back and is pulling your head towards his chest. DO NOT let him do this, you will get extremely tired.

How do you break out of gaurd?

Well there are various ways, one is the pressure point way... You put your one elbow on the inner knee cap (do it on yourself, youll find the pressure point) and jam your elbow in there. With your other hand you want your elbow bent (NEVER STRAIGHT!) Right on his lower stomach pushing down as hard as u can. He will try to grab your arm, shed it off and try again. When you shed the leg off, you will probably be in half gaurd.

Half gaurd is when he has half of you locked up. and your other part of your body is free. Fight dirty. Thats all i have to say. If you need to nudge the balls a little, do it. Its street fighting nothing less nothing more.

Okay, next scenario. You take him down but are in Side control.

This is much easier to deal with. You are basically perpendicular with him. What you want to do is take one forearm and jam it into his throat. Take your opposite leg and put it on his lower stomach hard! This way he is motionless. You need to move that leg over to the other side and you can get a full mount. VERY EASY when you with someone who is unskilled. Remember, you need to utilize the choke, make them feel uncomfortable.

What if he escapes you while you are taking him down?

Dont let him regain his balance. try again!

---recap---

okay.
Standing up, REMAIN CALM. MOST IMPORTANT. people think they are going to get rocked. Just keep your head and you will be fine.

On the ground, dont let him try to roll you, dont be afraid to choke, if he taps, let him go. (depends on how serious) if its a real streetfight, you must choke him out. However in school, dont choke someone out please. They should be embarassed enough.

Be quick, be calm, and dont be afraid to take a shot. Getting punched for the first time sucks. after that it juts gets you pissed off.

Any questions, fixes, anything just post it. IF YOU LIKE it, I will make more and more. If i need to explain anything let me know.

Best way to win a fight is thinking you can kick anyone's ass. You are what you do. When you think you can kick anyones ass, you begin to show it, which means people begin to believe it. Also having that extra confidence ain't bad.

Dont be so naive. Being confident and knowing how to handle yourself is one thing, but thinking you can take down anyone is gonna get your killed.

Good post!

Remember the psychological part, though. It may be the most important part of it all! If you are gonna fight, make sure you feel sure that you're gonna win. If you're unsure, it won't work.

I also recommend downloading and reading the "U.S Marine Corps Close Combat Course", "Marc Macyoung - A down and dirty book on Streetfighting and Survival", and "Self-Defense Nerve Centers and Pressure Points". Read those three books, and start doing Krav Maga or something serious and soon you'll be able to kick anyone's ass. Do not make the mistake of starting with, for example, Tae Kwon Do. Tae Kwon Do works in self-defense if you've been doing it for several years, but it takes TIME. I did Tae Kwon Do for two years and have several black-belt friends, one of them with two Dan (he has been doing TKD for 6 years). Tae Kwon Do didn't help any of us when it came to real street fights. Do something serious. Something's that's meant to be used, not meant to be a show. I recommend Krav Maga.

Just make sure you practice it with a friend and get comfortable with the techniques first. It takes a lot of training to be able to apply techniques in a real fight.

And being a shy little bastard thinking you're a kung-fu master will get you killed/laughed at.

believe it or not... most fights end up on the ground, because someone always tries to bring someone down. I could probably do better on the ground then standing up.

These same techniques could be used in a street-fight or in an octagon.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, would work just as well on the street as it will on a mat.
