I think Imstill far from implementing the DJ techniques. I can't even break the ice. Even asking a question like "Hey, how much did ur beer cost u" requires some thinking and preparation.
that is the point of c + f, son. it breaks the ice, it breaks the b!tch shield, it breaks the bed....

go read up, now.

I'm not sure, but I think u missed the point.
Even saying a simple sentence to a girl requires ALOT of effort from my side. So I'm not talking about creating attraction or being a challenge by being C+F. Right now,I'm simply trying to get over this fear. The fear of talking, not even approaching girls.

I guess I'm one of those ppl who all the big dj posters talk about when they say that this board is bombarded by AFCs who talk bull.
But at least I want to improve, thats why I'm here...

well i dont know, but maybe u should have just talked to the girls with the camera. like ask em "is it this button that i need to press..etc" even if u know how to work that particular camera. u should have really said something to those girls maybe just something casual like "r u having fun?" "where u guys from?" and then ask them for their names, maybe say something else and then just jet and continue what you were doing...just have a short friendly conversation with them, not trying to pick them up or anything. who knows they might have thought u were a friendly guy and then after a while of u standing around might have pulled u into their dance circle. i can give u an example of one of my club going experiences a while back at club vatican. there were these two hot chicks (concordia chicks), i dont smoke, but my friend does, so they asked him for a smoke, but this guy is total afc, he just pulls out the cigarettes without saying anything, and they just continue to stand around us, so i decide to save the situation and ask them for their names and stuff and have like a conversation...but i think i made a mistake i went to mack on the hottest one and kinda left the other one standing, my friend of course didnt even try to engage (what a loser)..they were doing all these assgrinding floor bumping dance moves and maybe i could have taken it farther if i actually knew how to dance, but no...so i kinda lost them..oh yeah and second thing a mistake i make often..i always engage the hottest chick and the other chick was just standing around, so that's not cool, engage the less hot chick, she will be more receptive and it might turn out that the hotter chick is gonna get jealous and try to have u for herself...but i dont know..give yourself a goal to turn every random chance encounter with a girl into a short conversation about anything...u should get more confidence

My friend, you have stumbled upon one of the most important questions a young DJ can ever ask. My only advise is, you just have to set yourself free, and go for it. Just do it. Force yourself. Learn to CA, learn to dance, learn to talk, walk in a whole new and free way. A sober DJ beats a drunk DJ any day of the week. Sounds square buts its the truth. Don't think you can, KNOW you can.

I suggest going to a club and watch a few of the drunk guys. Watch how many people they annoy. Watch the looks of annoyed women when he tries to pick them up. Watch him become belligerent and call them all b1tches when he is shot down time after time.

I'm not saying not to drink, I'm saying that if you want confidence, don't rely on liquid courage. Either you have it or you don't and if you don't, booze will only make you look worse.

Interesting

Think of this guys, what's amazing is that there are some guys (friends of mine even), that could pick up in dance clubs, but couldn't initiate convo in a normal day to day environment.

I often had the thought that I was selling out because I wasn't in to the music.

I love bands, and have always done better watching a band. Great part is that there are breaks and it is a great time to talk to the chicks more. During the band you dance with them during the songs.
