How to approach this situation?

Okay, so the girl I've been hooking up with now for about 5 weeks slept over last night...We wake up this morning and start talking about today/tonight and considering its my roomate/ one of my best friend's birthdays I assumed she was just going to come over for his party (They're good friends also). She, however, says something like this:

Her:"Yea I like to go to the city tonight (its an hour away) with my sorority and go out there"

Me: "Wow that really sucks, how could you miss his birthday party?!" So wait, you guys are just going by yourselfs?"

Her: "Nahhhh actually were supposed to ask someone..."

Then it was followed by an awkward silence and I just say something along the lines of yea its definitely going to be a good time yada yada (completely dodged the question)

Now my thing is what do I do here? She was clearly hinting at me going with her (which I would love to do), but I completely dodged the question and it is also one of my good friends birthdays. What should I do? I want her to ask me because I REALLLLLY want to go, but with how I diffused the situation before I don't see that happening...should i bring it up to her again? What should I do?

The way you played this, you should go to your mate's birthday, especially if he's as good a friend as you say. Having said "how could you miss his b'day party," it would look odd if you suddenly decided to do the same. This sounds to me like some sort of sh*t test on her behalf- will you be a man and stick to what you initially implied you would do, or does she have the power over you to make you choose her over one of your best friends?
