How should I respond to this text?

so i send a text to this girl i havent talked to in a long time, asking for some help on college essays coming up. we used to have a semi-flirty relationship and so i texted something like
hey can i see your college essays sometime? awesome. u r a hottie.

i didn't mean anything in it at all, i mean she is hot, but after having not talked to her for so long i had really had pure intentions here. but anyways

she replies with some text about how her boyfriend doesnt like my text.

I really couldnt give a sh1t. but i dont wanna just leave it alone, and i feel like i should text something back both showing that i dont care and that i didint mean anything by it. At the same time i dont wanna seem liek a wuss either.

what do you guys think?
