It just means you posted a good picture of yourself, pictures more often than not lie anyway unless you can see a set of atleast 20 pictures of someone, I'd never rely on a single one to judge if someone is good looking or not.

Your looks shouldn't matter. Your confidence should. If you perceive yourself as lower than what others perceive you as, that's more of a problem than what you actually are in appearance.

Hotornot is biased. It wants to make you feel good about your looks so that you buy their subscription. Notice how even the most digusting guy or girl dont get anyhting below a 4. Their formula to compute your average score is not the normal formula to compute averages but its a different one that is more likely to give you higher averages.

Haha, that site is such garbage. I haven't looked through there in years up until recently and all the chicks are 7's and above. Most were 9's and above. If a chick is showing her titties, she's getting a 9. If a dude is wearing a military uniform, he's getting a 9. I saw chicks that were 6's at BEST with 9.9's because they were in a sexy pose. Dudes with a nice haircut and tight T-shirt or polo get 9.9's.

The takehome message of this is: HotOrNot is a pure novelty. It does not rate people's looks to any measure of accuracy. However, since women evolved to be sexually attracted to behavior patterns and displays of masculinity, we don't need to worry about our looks.
