Re:

I won't discount people's work, and what is accomplished but many builders, BUT, most guys of note size used at least (1) cycle of 'roids to get to the point they're at, not the least of the guys on those boards or even bodybuilding.com.

At bodybuilding.com, I came up along side a guy named big red. Kid was puny, but worked hard, ate tight, lifted alot. He got in the game of writing articles and gaining noteriety. Just months back, maybe inside a year, he was busted for possession of narcotics, $30k, and other drugs (pain pills and some E). Seems all his articles were worthless to an extent, because his credibility was built on his body; teen builders, which was his predominant audience, saw him as an icon. Then he fell. Being busted while claiming natural bodybuilding is the worst. It isn't the worst as it relates to you own body; if you want to do it, do it.

But don't claim purity, and sell programs like that, if you're not. Most guys do. They say "see, do this, get big, get ripped, get shredded, and you're done." Thing is, most of them did a cycle or 2 of hardcore building, ate tons, and then shredded. Guys buying these programs don't know this. That's my problem.

How can anyone who spends any amount of time in a gym and sees the size and the looks, lose the allure of not wanting to use them? I can't say I know enough to jump on the bandwagon one way or the other, but I have done enough searches through boards to see guys who claim size are cycling too, which does make a difference.

You're doing fine with what you've got now bro .. NEVER stop a workout routine until it stops netting you gains; you can increase your protein to 2g per lb if you want though, I bet you'll see a difference.

A-Unit: Dante is NOT a teen guru, and discourages teens from using his methods or programs. Do your homework on this guy, he really is one of the most respected men in bodybuilding. (and everything he says is pure gold)

I don't count calories anymore. At a guestimate, I'm taking in 4000+ now with 450+ day from protein. You want to get big and not get fat--in fact lose fat? Eat huge protein and then carbs and/or fat to satisfy hunger. Train heavy too and get your sleep.

I'm giving the 2g/lbs a shot for the next 12 months. I'm at 220 lbs now, and most of my gains have come at like 12-15 lbs of lean muscle mass a year. That's on moderate protein (1.3g/lbs), higher carb diet. Dante claims to have trained several guys to 70 lbs gains over 2 year periods, naturally. The gains are def worth a shot in my book, so I'll take it.

I've bookmarked this thread, and I'll check back in here next November.
I've been trained by him for the past 12 months and I have gained 30 pounds of muscle.

DC training is not easy and you have to follow the DC way of eating as well to see the gains. I've been eating high protein for well over a year and have never experienced discomfort. You must be drinking tons of water--1.5 -2 gallons a day.

You're going to be a monster after you're finished with this one, bro.

I'm right there with you, as well. I've already begun stocking up like crazy on high protein foods. Just did my first DC workout today as well and posted it in my journal. Good luck!

Re:

Much what I read on his DC training is how I train. Obviously he has his wits about him to go from 137 to almost 300. And I respect the fact that he spits the truth, not pure crap found in magazines. He's honest, because most sports guru's aren't.

Fitness is easy, a body of work is meant to be hard. It doesn't want to change; it will adapt if it must, but it certainly doesn't want to.

We can all trudge @ the gym to gain flexibility, stamina, endurance, and do what we must to stay the same style, BUT to become a hulking beast we MUST eat excessive food (carbs included). I'll throw the protein debate aside in save it b/c I still haven't seen those NOT on juice find validity in it.
