Master Don Juan
I drink a ton. I still work the night life scene so sometimes I drink to excess with my clients. I have a few limo drivers on speed dial so I don't have to worry about drunk driving and I've been drinking long enough where I know what and how to drink to avoid getting a hang over. On the social level I drink A LOT.
On the private side though, back at mi casa and what not, I may have a single ****tail or beer at home to wind down the day with dinner and usually that's it. No matter how long you've been drinking, it's never a good idea to drink excessively for prolonged periods of times. I've seen what alcohol dependancy will do to you an it's not pretty. One of my long time promoters was drinking at least a 750ml bottle of something every damned day since he was 20. He died of liver failure at 30 and it was a gruesome death. Everything just kinda shut down progressively. If you drink too much you won't be able to enjoy that which makes alcohol pleasurable. It relaxes you and makes for great conversation. When you over do it, things start going wrong in one way or another almost one hundred precent of the time.
I really enjoy the taste of liquor. I'll cook jim beam into some ribs up something fierce! I like the even flavor of alcohol and how it literally takes your breath away, but like most things this is something I acquired over time. Most people I know will never make it there. Chasers for shots, drinking for confidence and just to be wasted, all of these are not good reasons to drink. Drink responsibly, with intelligence, and with confidence.
