We all known good style is a must for a man who wants to be in demand with the ladies. Having your shoe game on point can turn the most basic of outfits into a legitimate eye catcher.
Ive had a penchant for shoes for a long time...probably ever since starting college. My tastes have changed some over the years too. Ive always been used to shoe compliments as well. Its a good conversation starter. I would say that I normally get comments on my hair or shoes....and sometimes a shirt Im wearing.
Right now I own about 20 pairs of shoes. About 7 dress shoes, 10 casual and athletic shoes, and a few pairs or sandals/light summer footwear. Not a lot by any means, as Ive known guys who have double or quadruple the amount. The guys at the top end of the spectrum tend to be collectors or people who simply like options. Me though, I don't need a huge rotation, and I sell or throw out things I dont wear anymore.
Right now my favorite casual shoe is the white leather hi-top Chuck Taylor All Stars. I always clean them after a wear or two to keep them looking good. I like wearing them with my beater blue jeans and a clean white tee. Basic outfit, but the shoes catch the eye.
My favorite professional shoes are my Stacy Adams Prescott in dark brown. These are cap toe oxfords with a quarter brogue (they have those little perforation holes on the edge of the toe cap, and not directly on top). I get compliments on these as well, and they were really affordable when I saw them online. Get yourself some toe and heel taps to protect against wear, and you have yourself a decent pair of leather dress shoes.
You'd be surprised how many guys in the office/professional world don't wear really nice shoes. Some dudes wear out the heels too, and have that lopsided thing going on with their shoes. Again, gotta get shoe taps to stop that. Women notice shoes though, and I really feel nice shoes can put that great finishing touch on an outfit, or bring it all together.
