That's actually something similar to what one of my friends told me. We were both 19 or 20, and I was talking about how I still used a condom with my girlfriend of 2 years, and how he didn't with his girlfriend of 2 years.
He reasoned, "If you're still using a condom, you just don't trust her." I was thinking, with the combination of my gf being on the pill AND me using a condom I have one less thing to stress about (her possible pregnancy).
Needless to say, he knocked up his girlfriend a few months later. His kid must be 10 years old now. Could you imagine that? 30 years old with a kid who's almost a teenager? Getting goosebumps just thinking about it.
Anyway, it's not so much about lack of trust in the woman. It's about lessening the odds of any kind of accidental pregnancy. Right now, not only does the girl have to be lying about taking the pill, but my condom also has to break, AND it all has to happen during a fertile time of the month. Nothing is foolproof, but I'll take those odds.
