How I'm losing weight

I admit to myself that I'm a bit obese (about 30 pounds or so).. and I've started to shed the weight. So far lost 5 pounds in a week. Just thought I'd let you know how I have been doing it. Quite simple really:

1. I cut down on how much I ate BIG TIME. No more fast food junk, no more potato chips, only healthy meals like fish, rice and the occasional steak (never giving up a juicy steak, ever) No more cakes and sweet stuff...

2. Some may raz me on this one, but I have cut down to one meal a day. Yes, flame me. I only eat supper. I skip Breakfast and Lunch now. I might grab a power bar at lunch if I feel really hungry. But for the most part, it's just supper.

3. An hour after supper, I jog for an hour and a half.

That's it really. Real simple, and I'm seeing results.

I was on a similar diet (one meal) during exams once cause of the time pressure(wasn't trying to lose weight or anything), you'll lose alot of muscle and gain back the fat rapidly when you start eating normally.

5 pounds in a week is probably mostly water, especially if you weren't exercising before you started. good luck!

You should eat more. I know your getting some results. However, that is not healthy in the long run. Losing weight is not easy. I know, I'm still working on it but eating only one meal a day is very bad for your body. I skip breakfast only because I wake up too late sometimes however, skipping meals is not the way to go. I beg you to reconsider and I mean if you have lunch eat something. A salad and fruit or something. Not just a power bar.

A meal of mostly raw vegetables will have only a few calories and still be much better than nothing. I like making cole slaw from red cabbage when I want to get by on a low calorie diet to cut weight.

One meal a day is unsustainable. You need to eat something.

check the cutting thread in the archives. It suggests eating a deficit of 250 cals a day leading to a week-end total of 1750. Coupled with exercising to burn 250 cals a day, you burn 3500 cals a week, which is a lbs of fat

There are other factors but it's the most safe way.
