Just wanted to add my 2c because there were SO FEW positive replies & so much bitterness. Maybe the others just didn't bother to answer, but I think it's a very good question, it's the question about the delicate balance of the Good Guy between nic guy and jerk.
G-Star: Not to be taken personal. A relationship consists of TWO people. So if your relationship was ****ty, why didn't you change it or leave it ? Most of us had experiences like that, life and learn,
I personally LOVE women. If they are spoiled bythes of disturbed psychos I learned more and more to not take it personal. Indeed, I rather pity them, in a (more and more) non-arrogant way.
Those women are like kids. The former may end stupid and bitter, when the outer shell gets older and they didn't listen to the men who critizised them.
Why waste your time and nerves with the immature/psycho ones? It's your own fault if you do. Get what is in your mutual interest (you may invoke the interest in her with the things you learn here) and move on.
The ones that are really good for your life in the long term are rare. So what, that's life. Keep your eyes open and ACT. Frustration will not gain you anything. Fycking aroung in hatred will only waste your time and energy.
Me too was lucky enough to have a real loving woman in my life, LTR, even as a bad case of AFC, and NOT experiencing what I consider love & good relationship in my family. I see this as an incredible luck. Trust us, there ARE the good ones.
It's like moving to a new city. You need to spend some time and failures in order to find the good restaurants. When you do, ENJOY the pleasure of a good meal. Untill then, eat when you're hungry, but keep a healthy diet.
Well, just my opinion.
