I want to get big, but not huge like some bodybuilder. So do most people get to the size they want, and then do a lot of high reps just to keep that size? Or is it impossible for someone to get huge unless they take steroids?

lol.. I love how people think they'll accidentally get huge. even guys with superior genetics have to fight and claw their way to 250, 270, 300lbs.

in any case, drop a meal (eat around maintainance) and keep your training exactly the same - high reps are a great way to lose your muscle. you can still try to get stronger (the lower food intake may make this hard though) or just lift the same weight every time.

Man, I am 5'8 and 150 lbs, so I'm not even close to being big. When I started out at 125, I had to eat a bit more than usual. At 135 that wasn't enough, so I had to eat a lot more than I wanted to. At 145 I had to eat a fùcking lot and fill myself with protein drinks and bars. At 155 that wasn't enough anymore, so I decided to mantain and cut a bit of bodyfat. 5'8 and 155, man. To be "big", I should be around 175-180 of lean muscles. Do you think this will accidentally happen overnight?!

How on gods earth are you worried about suddenly becoming massive is beyond me.

To really get big you have to be extreamly dedicated to train in the correct way, then you need to do the same with your diet.
People who are that size train for well over 10 years in the proper fashion and have great genetic potential to boot.

You will not get to Ronnie Coleman status unless you're either...
A. A lab experiment gone wrong.
B. On steroids.

Chances are, you will have to spend years of working your ass off, day in, day out. You will have to get your diet in perfect shape, and sleep like a baby every day in order to get "too big"

This is a 'calculator' for your 'ideal' measurements. Chances are you won't look HUGE with these. I sure as hell know I wouldn't. I'm close to some of them, such as waist, neck, hip. However, I have a long ways to go to get to the rest

Man, you said it. You will only get huge like a bodybuilder IF you TRAIN and EAT like one. It doesn't happen in a few months, it takes years of full dedication to them, so unless you are doing the same, you won't get like one of them overnight.

Yea, for the most part the average person doesn't need to worry about getting "HUGE"..

if you feel you are getting too big just cut carbs a little bit or do a little more cardio..

ultimately, growing muscle is as simple as taking in more of the right kind of calories vs how many you burn and the type of workout you do..

think everyone pretty much hit it on the head.

It doesn't matter how good-looking you are, how romantic you are, how funny you are... or anything else. If she doesn't have something INVESTED in you and the relationship, preferably quite a LOT invested, she'll dump you, without even the slightest hesitation, as soon as someone a little more "interesting" comes along.

Let's cross that bridge when we get there...get to your ideal size, and then keep lifting.

Guys this is a serious issue and it must be addressed.

WARNING! Do NOT follow Diesel's guide for more than 2 weeks because one morning you will wake up weighing 250 pounds at 5% body fat and none of your t-shirts will fit. You really have to be careful that you don't put on too much muscle because it is incredibly easy to gain. Losing the muscle however is very different. Many people find it impossible to shed that unwanted muscle once they foolishly put it on in a few weeks. So be very careful.
