How do you get a girl to be interested in you rather than you showing interest?

I don't really understand well that concept. I guess it sorts of come naturally, but I still don't understand. Is it related to the thing about not putting a girl on a pedestal, and treating her like you would with a friend while flirting with her?

what you want to do is make sure she knows that your interested, then once thats established you want to stand down, wait for her to respond. Then depending on how she responds, dont keep bombarding here with compliments and things like that, joke around playfully with her, make jokes about her, but make sure you come off not serious about them. Its ganna be a push pull kind of thing

Be friendly, but no too friendly.
Be very clean, manicure nails, trim hair from ears, nose, etc...
Take care of your body, by doing proper exercisers, so you look balanced, unlike the majority of the guys who are top heavy.
Wear clothes that look good on you.
Good posture.
